Monday began with frost

That was a shock: frost. The poor daffodils! When I put garbage out at 7:30, they were droopy!

I went back out for a walk after things warmed up. Look at them holding up their little heads!

They are so droopy! Poor little tulips.

The peony were falling over! Later in the day they perked up. Whew!

Grecian Windflower

The Lenten Rose is tricky to photograph. I used the iPhone. If you could picture me bending over, trying to get them in focus! You can see my blue sleeve in the top left corner of the first photo below.

I tried again on Monday... We've rain on the way, I was happy to see the sun.

Grape hyacinth

We had deer visit. They are happy grazing.

There was a trio of bucks.

We'll see what today brings!

The deer are getting shaggy as they lose their winter coats! The picture of that double set of chairs was interesting. What stories would they tell if they could talk?!?!?

Those hardy early spring flowers seem to understand frost is part of their lives. We had frost warning last night, so my one porch plant (so far) was moved over under the overhang of roof to protect it.

And that is why we don't plant gardens until mid May. I hope the plants all survive for you.

The daffodils shrugged that frost right off their shoulders!

I am not sure if I have ever seen a Lenten Rose.

Oh no, it is too late for frost. I hope your Spring flowers recover. I remember (back in our other life when we gardened) how sometimes the daffodils wouldn't even last a week because a hard rain would knock them down (this was in Oregon). It was always so disappointing when that happened since we had been looking forward to spring for such a long time! The grape hyacinths and peonies seem to be hardier.

Lenten Rose, beautiful with the sun and sky behind. Sorry about the last frost, I do laugh when a garden magazine says " Plant after the last frost" How do we know when the last one has come and gone?

We had frost too. I love the grape hyacinths and lenten rose. I really should plant some of those!

Your flowers are so beautiful. I felt the emotional drama of them drooping and then lifting their heads. What a profitable walk. You made three bucks! 😄 Aloha!

Nice flowers. The deer here love tulips. They got inside the fence and the botanic garden and cleaned them out a year or two ago.
