What a crazy month for weather!

Feb. 28th – We're in for rain!

Feb. 24 – more of this awful Spring weather: 5+mm rain.

It IS awful. Thunder and lightning, and rain on top of the snow. It's horrid walking in the forest. The water is  just rolling off the snow, into the gullies and ditches.

Feb. 21 – rain is threatened!

Feb. 18th – lovely snow cover

"Ottawa has received nearly 54 cm of snow this week, but get ready for a big melt in the capital."
We haven't had nearly that much, but we have enough! Yesterday it was -15 C. when we left the house. Today -5, and now, at noon, it is 5+!
Ottawa gets the Lake Effect Snow, moisture picked up from non-frozen lake surfaces.

Feb. 13th – 14cm, not as much as some people!

Feb. 12 – We did the driveway several times!

The roads were terrible! TrackMyPlow showed many trucks out there working.

Feb. 11 –a wee dump of snow & a warning

Feb. 9 – Temperature ups and downs

This morning our thermometer says -17 C. It fooled Daisy who went bounding out before she tested the waters, so-to-speak. I'm looking forward to Mr. Sun.

NASA Satellite is amazing!

Feb. 7th - Freezing rain warnings: total was 13.7mm.

I collected the ice pellets, just for fun, and melted them down.

It has hit Kingston around 2:00 p.m. Freezing rain hit Brockville at 3:00 p.m., Toronto has about 5 mm. Out west, B.C. has a dump of snow (60 cm: who has snow tires, there?!). New Orleans is a mess, with tornadoes.

Yikes...

Feb. 5th

It's been a glorious start to the month. Cold enough to walk on the wetland. Wetland walkies: World Wetlands Day. A skiff of snow, here and there. The wetland water levels have gone done. When you take a step, you fall a bit.

Feb. 1st – Not bad. Jan. 31st it was -17 C. in the morning!

Thursday, breakfast, and home

Breakfast, Thursday morning. It was going to rain. We took off for home.
The ice is that dark ice, that will give way soon. Muffin Muncher had a shower, packed, and had a nice breakfast, with well-trained staff. The view from the restaurant was pretty, with pretty skies.

Our Kingston hotel, dinner, and the view!

To continue our saga, we stayed at the Delta in Kingston on points. It was hubby's idea. We thought we'd go hunt for snowy owls. (You know how well that went! Owl hunting on Wolfe Isl.)
Yes, my friends are off to warmer climes, but we went to Wolfe Isl., Lake Ontario!
The hotel was amazing. Somedays you just have to get away. My cousin is taking off for two weeks in Nassau. We're just not beachy people!
I even took Muffin Muncher along.

The bathroom was interesting. There was a huge shower, NO bath tub, and double sinks.

Then there is the TV. It is hidden in a console.

The view was amazing, even if it was a cold, wintery day. A pair were doing selfies on the frozen docks!

After settling in, I suggested we go and visit my friends. This was the second part of our trip. They made a big decision to sell their home, since they have various health issues.
We popped in and met them in the foyer of their new senior's residence.  We had cocktails in their apartment, then took them out to dinner at our hotel.

We had such fun. Hubby and I made them laugh, here he is making another joke, and we shared some old times. They've known me since I was adopted in 1957. They have been acquainted for 60 years, married for 20.

The food was amazing. The bathroom sink was worth a photo, too!

I ought to take a camera class, but the night time view was wonderful, too!

Hubby was reading the room service menu. He insisted that he should order me some popcorn ($4, what the heck). Really! He spoils me rotten.
