Crumbly Acres is a little less crumbled!

First, Isabelle had her 13th birthday party last weekend. She and her friends went to a movie, and had cake in their solarium. Isabelle and Josephine wore long dresses. They looked quite grown up!

🌲 Yes, the arborists visited us Monday. The event was postponed twice, with rain, and other issues. We told them to take care of customers with more extreme problems than ours.  The ice storm hit April 6th, after they'd cleaned up from on April 4th from Smomageddon 2022.

Before...

Tom and Keith came to clean up our trees. They arrived about 9, and left after 4. I was exhausted just watching them!

The one white pine in front was decimated. Here were the four trees out front in 2010 ↓. The elms died and were removed. The evergreens, I thought would be good. Then the ice rain hit April 6th.

July, 2011, the backyard white pine wasn't very big.

This one is half-scraped of branches.

These ↓ are from 2011 (sure has grown); storm day in December; and then Monday, after clean up.

I love the little grabber machine he rides on standing up. I'd want to ride on it too! Not in the grabber part of course. Oh I hope those stately old trees will have many more healthy years to come!

What a gorgeous cake! Happy birthday! Good arborists can be hard to find but their work is dangerous and I'm always impressed in the after!

Some sadness here. Not something you wanted to happen.

That ice storm caused a lot of damage. I featured it today too.

Not a job for the faint-hearted!. Early last spring we had two freezing rain/ice storms which damaged the hardwoods and caused power outages, but the white pines bent without breaking. Probably because they are all younger and more supple. We had room in the back acres to place all the branches in a huge brush pile, hopefully to attract a diversity of wildlife.

What a magnificent cake!

I'm always sad to see a tree lost :(

Happy belated birthday to Isabelle. She looks a LOT older than 13. Loved the cake.

I was impressed with that rolling machine that moved the branches.
