Clean up on aisle two!

If a bowl falls on the counter...

So, I was careless. I was removing three mixing bowls from the cupboard, to put the big yellow one back in, and nest the smaller ones. My fingers slipped. I just wasn't paying attention.

Two were smashed, in many pieces. Some of them were like glass shards. I cut my baby finger!

We inherited my late mother's bowls, so we weren't short bowls, but these were ones I use frequently. This is all I have left!

I had two more disasters yesterday. I dropped a piece of firewood on my instep. You know how you see it falling, in slow motion, and you just can't move quickly enough. Then, after dinner, I snapped my lap blanket up and out, and totally smashed my wine glass on the table. Fortunately, it was white wine! I didn't cut myself this time.

Outside, I've kept the Christmas lights on the water fountain going. In the dark of a winter night they are heart-warming.
Do you notice anything? The red ones, on the long string, are all out. The green and blue are fine... ❓

Morning revealed itself. Lots of turkeys, and one doe out the front window. More out the kitchen window. This was from Saturday morning.

The little boy is getting bigger. He was on the old quilt, bird watching, when he looked back at me,  slipped head first right off and onto the couch seat. "I meant to do that!"

I noticed my bulbs in the basement had begun sprouting, so I brought them upstairs and watered them. Yellow tulips and paperwhites. As I recall, the paperwhites didn't bloom last year. Here they were: Paperwhites and a rabbit. We'll see what happens. I've had them since 2017: Paperwhites, perhaps I ought to start fresh?

Another storm arrived last night! I'm not complaining, as Newfoundland has had 175 cm of snow since Christmas Eve! I just saw the plow go by. It's a good sight!

Sunday morning

I've a bit of shoveling to do, I'll wait until it warms up a tad.

Our buck has a bit of snow on his face! These are zooms with the videocamera. The turkeys are almost up to their breasts.

I can honestly say, I've had days like yours. But, I do know now I'll be more artistic in my bandages (yours is tops!)

The snowfall is pretty from indoors looking out. Your fountain lights are pretty! And your bird watcher is a riot.

Heck woman, be careful with yourself! I have to say, in the past few months, I seem to have developed "dropsy". One of my big complaints is 'why is that on the floor now???' Thankfully nothing breakable thus far.

Was reading about the snowstorm... knowing that nine times out of ten it stretches its tentacles across the pond and we'll get the 'tail end. Never as much as you got, but enough to be a nuisance. Then again, nothing is 'normal' about the weather patterns these days, so who knows? YAM xx

It was one of those days wasn't it? I hate when those bits of crockery break. After the earth quake about 12 years ago we had a shelf drop in the cupboard. All of the Corelle and Blue Willow china went flying. The old Blue Willow wasn't that hard to clean up, but I think I'm still finding shards of Corelle!
We opened the drapes this morning to find our neighbour and his plow truck taking care of the heaviest part of our yard. He broke the snowbank and the big drift at the bend of the lane. It will just be straight runs for us with our snowblowers later, thank goodness.

Too much snow altogether, but Newfoundland has been smothered!!! Hope the felines will all play happily form now on.

Oh dear! I hate it when things just seem to drop out of your hands …
Do please take care.

We have seen news stories on our TV Channels about the snowstorms …
Stay warm

All the best Jan

Home is sometimes a dangerous place: people fall, stuff gets broken.
I like your profile picture with the green blouse.

Hello from Idaho and stop in from Christine. My Mother had a bowl like that yellow one I see in your cabinet. And now I use it.
If you have time stop in for a cup of coffee

Oh ouch! I hate when that happens. I've been knocking things lately too. I suppose it's an aging thing. Sigh... Please be careful when you shovel. You have a ton of snow!

My word, Jenn, you went from one disaster to another! Perhaps it augurs well now that you have gotten them out of the way. I broke a cup recently, but that takes a back seat to your "smashing"experiences!
