First significant snow fall: Nov. 11th

Daisy and friends.
Can you see them, lower left?
These are from Nov. 9th, 2013. I looked out and spotted Daisy by the goldfish pond.
Can you see them on the log?

She did not. It was quite humorous.
She who has managed to bring home 6, count 'em 6, ticks in the past two weeks.
Patience is also a form of action.

Leopard frog buddies.
The frogs looked not-so-amused with the cold weather.
In the back yard, Nov. 10th, I spotted another robin. Just one. It was sitting, but had been looking for bugs with the juncos on top of the septic system!

At first it wouldn't look at me!

Then it hopped to another branch, in profile.

Yesterday, Nov. 11th - froggies gone!
 What a change in weather.

snow dancing in the wind,
wind howling,
cold cats.

Winter, bring it on! This morning I checked and the pond is frozen. The snow settled on top of a thin layer of ice. Good night frogs and goldfish!

By morning: frozen over

Snow is in areas all around us but hasn't reached us yet. Overnight was the coldest so far.

Every season has its charms and also alarms! I do enjoy the drop into the cold though. Something to do with potential for hibernations I suppose!! YAM xx

How quick it turns. We had heavy rain last night, but they are calling for sunshine on Thursday. Yea! if it comes to be. - Margy

Well, it might be winter, but I am still in denial. I refuse to get my winter jacket out, wearing a sweatshirt and my fall jacket. But this morning, with a wind chill of -15, I did find my headband before heading out to the bus...
