On frozen pond –my Daisy

What a girl!
My Daisy. Little twerp. No wonder she comes in, shivering, with frozen toe pads! Self inflicted, methinks.
The ice was slow to freeze, but it's solid now. We've had such modulated temperatures. Last year I put some chicken wire on the pond, as the twins were happy to play on it. This year, both girls have been toying with the logs. The cedar lasts forever, and floats nicely. They would tap them with their paws, and realize they were not solid.
Mid-hunt!
Yesterday, she spent 3 or 4 hours outside, finally snagging a mouse. Today, with subzero temperatures, she's happy as a clam outside. I think of Thumper and Bambi, skating on the ice!
What, Mummy?
She snags a dead leaf, blowing across the pond.

Hmmmm, frozen on that side, too!

Where did my frogs go?

Yippers. She's frozen!

Midhunt is a gorgeous image, but that first one, midleap, makes me smile!!!
