Yesterday was glorious. We made it up to 15 C.! Big mistake last night, though. I cleaned the birdbath heater and neglected to put it back in the birdbath. It was - 5 C. this morning. It's going to thaw, and no harm done. Whew.
Can you see the chickadee coming in for a landing?
The girls had a nice walk in the forest📹.
Playtime! It is difficult, somedays, getting kids outdoors. Not this week. It was fun. MVI_0075
The raccoons have a pecking order. Food fight
Off in the forest, the porcupine has been active. I've moved this trailcam back to the frogpond path. With the wetland thawing, their trails are limited and funnels them along here. This is the first sighting this year. porcupine.m4v
COVID–19
Ottawa Public Health says 107 more people in Ottawa have tested positive for COVID-19. It's the first time more than 100 cases have been reported since January. Here, in LGL, they don't update the website weekends, but the media do. Ottawa is going back into red lockdown, as are we. We did our part by ordering in dinner last night. Our local restaurants seem to be doing OK with take out.
COVID-19 CASES ACROSS THE REGION
- Eastern Ontario Health Unit: 27 new cases
- Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington: 11 new cases
- Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit: 32 new cases
- Renfrew County and District Health Unit: 4 new cases
- Outaouais (Gatineau and western Quebec): 48 new cases

...it's fabulous to have spring in the air.
Another nice day coming up.

There might have been a day, middle of last century, when I would have considered skating ponds as fun... Now I was just holding my breath watching the girls!!! YAM xx
It is getting scary again with the numbers!
Sorry to hear about the increase in cases. It's been busy at your place. I'm like that raccoon whenever anyone gets to close to my food too! Have a great week. :)
I don’t even remember how to eat inside a restaurant anymore. Your very own woods are just wonderful. Really, you have an exceptional place to be semi-isolated ...lots of wonderful nature to entertain you!
Very busy!
Hello!:=)You have some great wild life at your place.Interesting clips, and I enjoyed seeing your girls enjoying the outdoors.:=)
Oh my, 15 degrees is glorious for you! That's cold for me.
By cases you mean actively ill people, perhaps hospitalized.
Infected with or without symptoms come in hundreds.
Sorry to read about your increase in numbers ...
Stay safe, stay well.
All the best Jan
The porcupine is a beauty!
