Our Anniversary dinner!

September 2nd – a week ago. We did not go out for our 20th anniversary, which was Aug. 22nd. We had the grandies that week, and they were quite happy with spaghetti. I was quite happy to cook for them.

Caitlin kindly gave us an electronic gift certificate to our favourite restaurant. We like the patio. It was the last outdoor meal for the season, I think. It looks like Autumn in spots.

The corn and the flocking birds, about to migrate. Impossible to capture on a drive-by shooting, but you get the idea!

You could tell it was a long weekend. Those able to take time off work did so, and were on the move. This is Highway #15 at #7. Back ups for a long way.

It is a lovely location for a restaurant. Condos in the far end of the old building. We have not eaten indoors in a restaurant in three years. We feel safe on a patio, in the open air, and that is where we ate.

I am not happy eating indoors what with the amount of Omicron out there. That, and the lack of testing, and the lack of masking in many indoor places, makes this a happy place for me.

The wasps are hungry for food. Our food. They know winter is coming. There were quite a few, but no bites, and we enjoyed the meal.

The bonus was a blue heron.  When I processed the video at home, I noticed it was doing strange things with its tongue. I have no idea what is up with that!

It is a lovely old town.

This was unusual. They want someone to rent this spot!

I will do takeaway from restaurants but remain hesitant to go inside.

Hwy 7 is a NIGHTMARE. The government needs to do something about it. Not four lane in spots hither and yon, do the whole thing for goodness sake. We wanted to go to Sharbot Lake on the Civic long weekend at the beginning of August. With NO LIGHTS at Kaladar (41&7 intersection) we had to turn the opposite direction then double back when there was a break in traffic to get through.

I have never been to that restaurant. I just ever get around to it. When we dine out, it is usually for breakfast, which they don’t serve.

Great spot for an enjoyable celebration - and congratulations to you all! That wasp is huge looking. If a cat is doing tongue moving, with mouth open, it's usually to get an odor tested well. No clue for a heron!

I haven't eaten in a restaurant either. Have been on the patios or take out.

I'm with you. I have trouble eating inside, but Sally, my foodie partner, refuses to get take away because she says the food gets cold too quickly. Looks like you had the ideal spot and a wonderful time, even with all the traffic. Had to laugh at the "Food trucks wanted" sign. Happy belated anniversary.

How wonderful! A belated Happy Anniversary. Looks like it was a super celebration :). I still feel more comfortable sitting outside and much better to be enjoying the fresh air.

Happy Anniversary! I agree with you about patio as opposed to indoor restaurant dining. Air circulation/quality is a real concern. That looks like a great spot :)
