Gramma Camp – Week 37

Sunday

As promised, I was on the phone with Caitlin when Clover and her fawn showed up.

The doe and fawn then came around to the front yard.

Monday – our 20th wedding anniversary!

Isabelle had her allergy test Monday. They knew kiwi fruit was one allergen. Also, two kinds of dust mites (ooh boy!), a smidge of result from cat and dog dander, and birch. Man oh man oh, has she come to the wrong place!

I could hear the low rumble of something on the highway. Checking it out, I realized we best not go through Perth – as we'd never get there! They were working on the shoulder. This poor woman had to march the vehicles along slowly.

They had lunch, and we met at the Hostage Exchange. On the way there was roadkill, poor slow-moving porcupines, and the vultures were cleaning it up. There was about a dozen in two places!

I love this house. It was for sale for awhile, it was a mess, and they've renovated it top to bottom, added a porch, and inground pool. A massive task.

Our plan was to go to the Mill of Kintail, then have our anniversary dinner with the girls on the pub patio. We'll have to defer that! It looks like a rainy few days. Another 10 mm this morning.

At home, we had rain. A lot of rain. Big, fat, lovely wet raindrops!

A more energetic woman would have put the hanging baskets on the sidewalk to take advantage of the rainfall!
The goldfish pond was full and overflowing. I was wondering how the fishies were doing.

I announced this to the group, "It's been pouring, 22 mm. Percy nearly escaped!"

Droll Grampa said, "Just make sure your keys are secure, we don't want him getting to the car."

He is a card!

The rain eased up, and Grama and Isabelle went for groceries. They brought dessert. At my request, a lemon meringue pie. I made us a batch of spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was hilarious!

We found two candles for the pie, a #5 and a #8. Izzy asked which, 58 or 85? I said it really doesn't matter! The kids sent us a card, and some beautiful sunflowers. They also sent a gift certificate for dinner at Boulton House! We'll take advantage of that soon. Hooray for patio days.

Josephine was charged with bringing the presents from the closet. I bought Grampa a new camera. It was tough finding one. Caitlin helped. Me, I ordered a new trailcam for myself.

We found a movie, Izzy organized her Skittles.

It was a great 20th wedding anniversary! JB ordered me a special pop-up card and it was a lovely tree with a couple outlined in black.

I know rain has been needed (at least here) but too bad it changed your anniversary plans. That fawn is so pretty!

You get the best visitors, human and otherwise. Happy anniversary. Glad Percy didn't escape.

Yay new trail cam! And so wonderful to get rain too! Congrats on anniversary! Those skittles in order should disappear into mouth quickly!

It looks and sounds like a wonderful anniversary - and that card is special.
Road kill always makes my heart ache. I with we had a clean-up crew as you do.

Camera and trailcam, great gifts. Lovely to have the family there, and rain, watering with a hose is not the same as glorious raindrops.

Nice anniversary day! And Percy has a wonderful pond; lovely to see the rain into his area. Linda in Kansas

I like the way you celebrated! And the way you have more ways planned -- no reason a major Anniversary can only be celebrated once!

The deer are quite aware of you.

Kiwi is the only fruit that doesn't agree with my stomach.( Pity, it's such a healthy fruit full of vit.C!). I wonder why. Anyway, I've stopped eating it.

It looks like a great camera! JB will enjoy it.
Lovely pop-up card (last picture)!

Gramps has a lovely sense of humor :) Looks like Gramma Camp is going well. Lots of lovely photos and great videos. The fawn is adorable! She was very alert wasn’t she? And the rain on the pond, and the fish looks huge. Sorry about Isabelle’s allergies. Happy Anniversary! Looks like you had a lovely time celebrating with more to come :)

Wish we could have some of that rain. Ponds are empty. Cisterns are low. Well water is dropping. Large cracks in the ground.

...I've had allergy tests several time, but fortunately out grew the need for shots.

And a carousel horse in the background. Happy anniversary. A beautiful card. Nice gifts and a new trailcam for you. Beautiful flowers. So glad you enjoyed yourselves even though your plans changed.

Poor Isabelle. I feel for her allergies.

Happy Anniversary! The new trailcam sounds like fun :) A good soaking rain would help a lot here, but we're getting sprinkles too light to fight the drought. At least it's not flooding, though.

I hope she gets some help with the allergies.
