Our big buck!

 Jan. 8th

These two were play fighting or head bumping. He is impressive. I'm wondering if a doe is going into heat? He could just be one of the tribe. Normally, the bucks stay away, while the does and yearlings hang out in our wetland.

From the backyard, he went to the front yard! I took the first photo through the window. For the 2nd photo, I went outdoors, and he took off at great speed. Can you see him roar off?!

A little later, here he was nestled down under the tree, again. Isn't he a fine fellow?!

He is a frequent visitor! This was Jan. 12th. It's been wicked cold, and they are anxious for food.

By the evening sunset, they were still around.

Nice to see his adventures.

They're a lot smarter than we think they are. They train us to feed them. And they are fun to watch.

He certainly is a handsome fellow (and I think he knows it!). Your backyard is just amazing. The sunset is wonderful also.

Wow! He looks huge and quite comfortable to stay under your care.

Jenn - he is a fine specimen! I feel for the deer around here - the snow is deep and it is tough going, especially for the yearlings. At this time of year, they are eating pine needles!!!
