The flora and fauna have moved into Autumn mode. The beetles on the milkweed pods sit here in the sun.
The leaves have been beautiful. Even on the ground. JB walks by the trailcam. The maple has shed it's beautiful coat of yellow, orange and red. OK, still shedding.
I was wondering about the new ditch, but the lawn tractor did a good job firing leaves off the gravel. I was quite pleased with it. The tractor started, I had gas. The driveway looked great.
I love riding my tractor, truthfully! And I love the falling leaves. I am looking forward to using the snowblower on the new driveway. Honestly! It'll be so much easier without the bumps and lumps, banging into them, and feeling the shock.
Today's challenge? Bringing in the goldfish. I could wait until next Tuesday/Wednesday, but I'd rather not risk it. We've a cold front moving in. After the goldfish, I have to move the frogs. The freeze/thaw of climate change necessitates it.
Wish me luck!

...I love it when the milkweed splits open.
We have a small engine business. Mike is busy running the gas out of our lawn mowers/tractors (gasoline has ethanol that destroys carbs if left to sit in the cold) and getting the snow blower ready. All of his service calls are snow blowers these days. This extended warm weather has us really feeling complacent. Hope it doesn't change drastically, too quickly.
The leaves are looking beautiful.
The fall colors are spectacular. Good luck with the fish, and frogs.
Those falling leaves, I remember way back to 1986 when we were in the South Island, and the whole ground was covered in orange and gold, not a speck of dirt or grass to be seen. And like you, the next day if the wind blew, even more would fall.So glad you can keep that new driveway clear, even if it means driving every day on the tractor!!!
Your leaves look beautiful. The trees that are usually bright reds here seem to be dull browns this year. I think we are not going to have a spectacular fall show here.
You give us so many gifts everyday Jenn!
Your part of the world always looks beautiful but there's another dimension seeing the Autumn leaves. Photos and videos are great. The garter snake was fascinating, a handsome reptile. The thought of you zooming down your driveway on your tractor makes me smile and envious :) Always enjoy your Snuggle Bear scenes. Definitely a snuggle bear fan! Thanks for another great post Jenn.
There are many lovely songs referring to autumn falling leaves. I like to listen to the songs, but not to have to deal with the fallen leaves.
Anyway, the colors are still attractive.
I loved riding my lawn tractor, whether mowing or blowing snow with the big blower.
Enjoying your fall colours; ours are still a bit muted but coming along.
Why is is when you think you've picked up the last leaf a whole lot more appear from somewhere.
Our color is a little different. We don't have any maples in the woods, oaks and hickory, so our fall color is kind of brownish. I still love it.
Enjoy your tractor!!
A wonderful time of year!
Such pretty trees!
It sounds like fun to roar up and down the driveway in your tractor. I think I'd enjoy that. Leaves are falling fast all over the place.
Thank you for the video of the falling leaves. It made me smile to remember the fun of it all. It's been such a long time.
