Hooray, hooray, the month of May ☔🌷

Saturday morning was a shock. It shouldn't have been, as I saw the snow fall on Friday. It was cold and the bird bath had ice on top of it. I put the heater back in, although we are supposed to go up to 11 C.

Snow (2 cm) and 25 mm rain. We should have double-digits for the rest of the week. I'll put the fishies out!

Lots of rain and the deer were enjoying the grass.

BEFORE
AFTER

The day dawned and it was pretty, with the hope dawn brings.

Off I went off to fetch the trailcam cards. The tulips weren't too bad. The daffodils fell over in disgust.

Lenten Rose wasn't happy, though.
My buddy, Cinnamon, waiting for me to go walkies.

The grasses are growing. The ducks stay at the far end, hiding from us.
Cinnamon was so happy, he flung himself up the tree.
That's not bad, with the sun on his face!

I love this part of the forest. It looks like a path.

The robins are nesting, one had nesting materials in its mouth. I cropped it, but it is difficult to see.

I'm thinking a green heron! I've never seen one on the pond. This is a screen capture from the video.

I could hear and see the Canada geese circling around the wetland honking away. I don't know if they were looking for someone to land. The crows were hanging around us, too. They are worried about Cinnamon, methinks.

I'll just put this there. We're going to get through this.

After the girls left Friday, I watched a delightful movie, Chasing Waterfalls (2021), filmed in Maple Ridge, and Squamish, Pinestone Lake Lodge, B.C.  There was a lot of variety in terms of casting of BIPOC actors. It was cute. I drool over the scenery.

The snow was not greeted with enthusiasm, and I don't see too much good weather in the forecast.

Last year, as the world shut itself in... the sun came out and a long summer started early and ended just as things freed up. This year, as we once again prepare to be let loose, the first weekend in May has brought frosts and the need for heaters to burn once more!!! Ma Nature is having a rare old laugh at our expense... YAM xx

...I remember snow and a lot of it on our Mothers Day. It wasn't welcomed.

My reaction is similar to that Daffodil!

Juat a little sprinkle to say the winter snow has not left you yet, love Cinnamon up the tree, they climb up so easily, then struggle to come down backwards or front first.Soon your days will be all sunshine.

I like rhymes (the title of your post: Hooray, hooray the month of May).
It used to be a matter of talent. Nowadays, everyone can write with rhymes, as there are sites on the Web offering rhyme generators/finders of words or phrases that rhyme.

Brrr!

Here in the UK we have been enjoying some sunny days but the nights have been cold. Tomorrow strong winds and rain are forecast for some areas. I think I may stay in and make some soup!

Take care, my good wishes.

All the best Jan

spring brings all kinds of weather. Some nice and some nasty.

Spring is emerging in Canada. You have a lot of wildlife where you are. The only wildlife we have is the partiers across the greenbelt from us.

Winter is being very persistent! Cinnamon looks like a very playful cat.
