Mourning doves in the frigid cold

Another cold one!
"What do you want?"
Another cold one, with wind gusts to blow the snow about. The driveway is centre-bare, but it's built up where the wind has dragged the fluffy flakes across the top of our 54 cm snow base.

I arrived home from the hospital by 10:00 a.m., it was the early bird...

We taped a message (pre-surgery) for the kids and his cat.

It's amazing how much you can get done when you get up at 4:00 a.m.! The cats were happy to see me. I kicked them outdoors for an hour. They'd given Sady a hard time, although I know she has emotional issues! I had to clean up her throw up (in 3 spots!).

I tried to use the snowblower, but it's frozen. I contacted our small engine repair dude, who popped over, being in the neighbourhood. He said to use my hair dryer on it for a half-hour. Can do. But not today. We expect more snow this weekend. I shall work on that tomorrow. It was good exercise/physical therapy to throw the snow around with the shovel.

Meantime, in the front yard...
Three mourning doves sitting in a tree. Dang, it's cold. They are happy being in close proximity to the bird feeder. They can see cats coming a mile away!
The sun is wonderful.

"I'm hungry."
"I'm too warm in the sun to move."
"You go first."

"Nah. I'm having a snooze."

"I'm not moving."

"You woke me up, two-legged one with camera!"

"Maybe I will go have a bite."

I like the idea of using a hairdryer to get an engine running. I never would have thought of that.

Your doves look very cold. Snow shoveling will help to keep you warm but sometimes there's just too much snow and we run out of gas.

The doves are lucky to have the feeder...boy it still looks cold up there, sunshine or no.

Oh my word, just cannot quite imagine that level of cold. Love the doves...won't you linky-up over at WoW again this week?

Maybe you'll need to use that hairdryer on your joints if you stay outside too long!!! YAM xx
