This is the older female, who wanted to see what Daisy was up to. |
I posted a video of them, struggling across the frozen crust on top of the snow.
Our snow cover has gone from 31cm to about 25 cm, with the top part being a sheet of ice.
By the afternoon, the setting sun revealed much melted snow in fields |
They were taking it easy, our regular three. Two does and a yearling. Just lying down in the snow. The video is a bit fuzzy, since the warm temperatures created a temperature inversion, and the moisture was rising up from the snow.
This doe thought she'd let her sister take care of things. |
Oh, well. Maybe something *is* up! |
Bambi takes a rest from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
Daisy and Dorah went outside, and this worried the one doe. It's been a hard day in the back yard, and the day is young. Bambi took a rest. Our regular three were sitting down, chewing their cud, relaxing in the back yard. Daisy kept on watching for her red squirrel buddy. Alas, nowhere in sight!

Such beauties. I've taken a few videos of the ones who stop by here also but with such a slow connection, I suspect it would take forever to upload.
Oh, Jenn, what fun! I'd love to have a video camera. I must look into it. Your zoom is fabulous.
Imagine anything the size of a deer being afraid of one of your cats. LOL
We are taking Lindy to the vet today. She has a lump in her right side. The vet will think it is bruised, but I wanted to mark the spot. First I grabbed a pink lip balm, but it didn't leave much of a mark, so I tried a purple felt pen. If I'm ever required to do bruise makeup on anyone, I will know what to do.
So, wish us luck. The lump is about the size of a walnut and has me scared silly. All day yesterday and this morning I kept retreating to bed so I could sleep instead of worrying.
Backatcha later.
Luv, K
