The healthcare system can work well for most!

Another snowy day.

4:00 a.m. Here we were, getting ready for a 6:00 a.m. intake appointment at the Critical Care Wing. We couldn't sleep, and didn't need to get up until 5:00 a.m.!
5:30 a.m. Check edout of Rotel, drive into the -19 C. car to the parking lot.
Take the parking chit in, to validate it before I leave. (This we can claim on our taxes.)
A selfie, before we leave!

6:44 a.m. Our nurse, Krysta, took him to cubicle #1 (of 23!) prepared him, got him his gown, took his vitals. Now we wait for them to wheel him to the surgery room. We think she said there are 17 surgery rooms. It's a large teaching hospital.
7:00 a.m. He had a message for the grandkids and his cat!
Last selfie,
before they took him away!

"Grampa says hello. Sady's to be a good girl!" Sady threw up three times last night/this morning. I know Buster gave her a hard time. He just wants to play with her!

8:00 - 2:00 p.m. Surgery - if the surgeon has time, he will phone me to let me know how it all went.
2:15  p.m. Our surgeon phoned me to let me know that all was well. The 6-hour robotic surgery marathon was successful. It looks like all the cancer cells were removed. The pathology report will let us know later.
They managed to find him a double-room, and he will sleep well, I know!

I'm very sorry to hear about the cancer surgery. I wish him a speedy recovery and no relapses at all. Six hours? That's a long time.

I missed earlier posts on this. SEnding very best wishes for a full recovery, which from what you say sounds very likely.

I needed to read back to catch up and I'm so glad to see that your hubby is doing okay. Sending best healing thoughts his way.
