We've all had weird weather. As winter winds down, the deer munch on the dead grasses to fill their bellies. They then hunker down to chew their cud. I love seeing them. Once spring arrives, they'll go off to their summer habitats and we won't see most of them in the daytime.
The next day, they were sitting and standing, munching and waiting. The coyote hasn't been back, but neither has the turkey. Hhhhmmmm.
In the fall I protected my candytuft plants at the end of the garden. Or so I thought. Last year they razed them and I didn't get many blooms. They are pretty flowers, and the deer remember the plant is here. It must be yummy.
They munched on the ones at the end. Silly things.
Otherwise, the deer are hanging in, as are the coyotes!

Feb. 2024, they hunker down under the pine tree out front. The camera tipped, as the snow melted around the tripod.

I always love to see your wildlife in photos and videos. Good to see your snow melting. That’s a pretty plant.
Hello,
The deer are always my favorites!
I am missing them here, I have not seen any in a long time.
Happy weekend!
Poor little flowers.
I'm moving slow today much like Butch the raccoon. Love seeing all the deer!
That must be early for Butch to be awake and out & about.
Fun to see all your critters!
In all the years that we lived in the Illinois area, I think I only saw one deer in our neighborhood.
The deer are good company.
