They couldn't take down the shed (↓on the left), since barn swallow (an endangered species) used it as a nest site. They had to wait until the shed fell down.
We went into town on Thursday, and noticed that the shed had collapsed.
JB went into town Saturday, and noticed that they took it all down and hauled away the debris. The little shed, which must house electricity sources, is still there.
It's a great spot, but the dump is behind it, beyond the trees, and they now let people walk their dogs around the field. Good for people from town.
I cannot complain, since there are tornadoes and storms in the southern US!

Fickle March but a beautiful post. Thank you, Jenn
What a shame about the old barn. Isn’t that interesting about the barn swallow? We have been passing an old abandoned house for years and they finally took it down last week. I was surprised how much I missed the sight of it. We’ve got a cool down here this week, but like you said, can’t complain when others are having it so much worse. Have a lovely week Jenn. Thanks for another great post.
There was fine snow on the way back from STITTSVILLE JUST AFTER NOON. (CAPSLOCK)
You're right, March is such a fickle month. It's snowing here!
...March is a tug-a-war between winter and summer.
Some redevelopments can get complicated.
Hard to see familiar old places disappear. I always wonder who lived there, what their lives were like and why they left.
March has been all over the place. we are back to cold temps again.
I am glad they left the shed standing for the swallows.
Take care, have a great day!
Several old barns that fell down in our region, had the Lands & Forest folks build Swallow huts near the site - that made me very glad that there's help for such a beautiful bird (& necessary).
