Up in the air, down in the forest

The buck was by for a munch. It wasn't the last we'd see of him. This is the view from the front window.

The deer have been busy. It is rutting season, and the males are on the move. During the rest of the year they travel alone, but when the females come into heat (only for 24 hours) the males have to be ready! Usually November.

I spotted them out back, watching the action from the deck – there was a bit of a chase.

Both the buck and doe appeared on the frogpond trailcam.

Indoors, I moved a dog cat bed onto the couch for the big guy! He insists on sleeping here.

Just as I was finishing up delivering the frogs to the wetland, the Hercules went on over.
It's back off to home base Trenton. By the time I came back up to the house and loaded the photo, it was over Westport at 8000', and 182 kts.

Earlier in the day... right overhead! A Cessna, with the Rockcliffe Flying Club.

I'm getting better at capturing them on video.

The coyote is up to his/her old tricks, peeing in front of the camera!

Down at the wetland, a doe was nibbling on weeds. Cinnamon was nearby, I'm not sure she knew. They are fascinated with the cats. She peed as I videotaped her, right at the end of the video. There is a theme here!

...in the Adirondacks military jets practice low elevation flying, what a racket.

It's a busy time for all the animals!

I did hear a large plane that afternoon. That explains it.

The trailcams do take in a lot.

Your deer videos are outstanding! Always enjoy them. Interesting about the planes too.

Here the bucks are having little tussles. I watch them on my evening walk. The tussles are always short. Never had a ride in a Herc.
