I was inside and saw this stick outside on the table. Walking. I picked it up as it had fallen into a spider's web. It is huge! I put it in the flower basket to let it go on its way.
I've spread out the trailcams, and I can see how the deer wander up and down the path through the wetland. doe and fawn

Hello,
You must be the deer whisperer, I always enjoy these sweet deer.
Neat sighting of the Walking Stick, I would imagine they are hard to find.
Great critter post and photos! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
...I haven’t seen a daddy long legs in ages, thanks.

Always a privilege to spy on nature this way! YAM xx
Stick insects always seem among the most amazing creatures to me. They are so fragile, yet they survive, and of all the functions they need to enable their lifestyle are crammed into such a tiny space. Nature is amazing, awesome in fact, in the true sense of the word.
Wow!
Great camouflage by the stick insect. Interesting videos as always.

Your critters are great although I don’t ten to love insects.
Love your deer!
Did you know there is a quilt block pattern called " Flying Geese" and that formation almost copies the pattern? Maybe a few flew off the other way, great photo Jenn. Love your wildlife too, stay safe. All of NZ is in lockdown, only essential services open, and so many schools have had a positive case, universities as well, and with this being the Delta Variant, lots more scary than last year.
How neat to see the walking stick. They are so hard to spot!
It's nice to see deer being deer.
That walking stick! I wonder how many people would just walk by and never see this amazing insect. Thanks for not being one of them and for sharing what you noticed. Your trail cams are so fun!
You have a lot of fun with those trailcams!
I saw a Walking Stick insect up at the farm and was entralled with it...something I'd only seen in books till then. I am amazed by their form!
Enjoyed your videos. I haven't seen a walking stick in ages, although they do camouflaged themselves well.
