Facetime, Bunny, Booboo bear,

Father's Day was exciting! We did Facetime with the kids. FIrst, Ottawa, and then Vancouver!

Bunny showed up, again.

Our one-year-old bear cub. He has something on his ear. The bugs are bad, too!

If you watch to the end, you'll hear him snuffle and watch him inspect the camera.

Still no rain. I am worried. It looked promising...but nothing.

The hops vine is doing well. I made it to the top of the railing by Monday, and now it is near the roof.

This is the last photo of the phoebes. I checked on them in the morning, snagged a photo with the zoom lens, did Facetime with the kids around noon, went out and they were gone!

We sat on the back deck, and could see a phoebe in the tree. Another seemed to do a fly-by, checking out the nest.
Nutmeg was sitting partly on and off the stones. I don't know if she fell off, or meant to do this!

She was bird watching. I bring the feeders in every night, and so far, so good.

Finally, the peony! The peony season is so short!

The peony has to be one of the most lovely flowers.

Our pheobe nest is getting knocked down as soon as our little ones fledge. We want to use the side deck sometime this summer! The pheobe nest is over our "front" door (on the east side of the house). It's the only place we get shade by the time the heat of the day rolls around.
They didn't use the nest last year at all. One other year they did one clutch in the door nest then built a second nest under the deck on top of the phone box. Another pair has a nest in the eaves of the woodshed.

Peonies, they are so expensive here in the florist shops, and where we are, too warm for them to grow well, in the far south they thrive. Another wee bird family hatched and flown off to start their new lives.
