Eight-spotted Forester Moth (Alypia octomaculata) |
I taped the song, followed it about in the forest. I'm pretty sure that is it, from All About Birds. I've photographed them in the forest.
Cinnamon had a visit with Butch. He was hauled indoors after this. Cinnamon, not Butch.
We were reading on the back deck when I heard screaming sound. It was Cinnamon and a raccoon kit screaming at Cin.
Again, I hauled him indoors. There were five babies in total!
We had a debate about what to do, as I couldn't see mom. JB grabbed Nutmeg and threw HER in the house. I watched them for a bit. They were having a ball. Then, at the end of the video, she suddenly turned up. Peering at me from over the wee fence.

...is that a good moth?
That Cinnamon is quite the intrepid explorer.

That is a lot of mischief brewing on your doorstep!!! Adorable mischief... YAM xx
Don't want the kitties tangling with them or Momma, but dang they are adorable, aren't they?? :D
Love nature. Unfortunately we have had a couple of racoons hit by vehicles the past couple of nights.
Exciting times but I don't like raccoons hanging around our place so much. They tend to make messes in the barn and steal bird food.
