Doe – a deer

I love the way she bounced into the frame!

doe from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.

We have many other regulars. It's fun tracking them. They are munching their way through the pumpkins.

This female whacks at the pumpkin with her hoof.

Then she wrestles with a larger piece.

Butch raccoon, of course.

The squirrels are fun, too!

I've bought myself a new trailcam for my birthday. The setting are different, I am disappointed with myself. The trigger is too slow for smaller animals. The quality is amazing, though. See the difference.

I set it up by the house.

We've a big rain storm on the way. This is terribly unusual. We anticipate a quiet weekend, which is good. We watch the news, and then have to shut it off. Canada lost 63 Canadians in Iran, in the lane crash that killed 176 people. There have been memorials across the country. Adults, children, university students, creative gifted scientists.

Happily, we've had firefighters return to Manitoba from Australia, where they have helped with the bushfires. More have been sent. Of course, Australia sent us help when we needed. That's what we need to do. Look after one another, not drop bombs.

Maybe that first deer should be called Tigger.

The clarity of the new images is quite something, shame about the slow trigger but I'm sure you will have much joy from it to compensate. Hoorah for your last sentence. YAM xx

The news has been so depressing this week.

The international scene this week has been horrible and very scary. Your new camera has amazing clarity. - Margy

Look after one another indeed. I say AMEN to that!

Loving the deer & critters. A most perfect birthday gift I might add.

Your trailcam is pretty darn amazing. So much wildlife!

It's absolutely tragic about the lives that were lost on that flight. I'm wondering if they thought it was an American plane... but they say that's not possible.

I always enjoy your trail cams and photographs.

So agree with your last sentence!
"That's what we need to do. Look after one another, not drop bombs."

I hope you have a good weekend.

All the best Jan

You get a few surprises each day when you check your trail cams.
