Friday morning (March 29) Hooper and I did a walk. It was spring-like, although over Saturday/Sunday we've had 40mm of rain. And now it is snowing!
I was right to clean out and refill the nesting boxes [Spring nesting season approaches!]. The ice is melting as it does from the shoreline into the middle of the pond!
The deer fur is still down there. It's a lot of fur!
The edge of the frogpond is slowly thawing in the sun, on the south facing side.
While we were out spotted my first gull overhead. The lakes aren't open, yet, and they are few and far between.
Just showing off!

That deer fur might be a perfect lining for a songbird's nest. Spring was well advanced here but we got about five centimetres of snow overnight. Grrr!
...we have lost most of our snow. I want to get up to the Adirondack Mountains soon, it should look like your scenes. Enjoy your week.
We've had hardly any snow this winter. Hope you get lots of birds nesting in your nest boxes
My compliments to you for saying gull instead of sea gull. Gulls have a huge range so can find some water. They also can survive in many different conditions.
It is snowing here too but mostly melting when it hits the ground.
Hooper must be wondering if spring is a rumour.
We've had another sunny day here in the UK so it does seem strange to see your snowy pictures on this post, but they are nice.
By the way … your spaghetti dinner with the added goodies of red and yellow peppers, onion etc. sounds very tasty :)
Happy April Wishes - well it's almost here!
All the best Jan
