It's spring when the turkey vultures return!

The vultures have not returned, not yet. Or, at least, I haven't noticed any. It's been cold. The snow is slowly melting, however. Tomorrow, Thursday, we can expect rain. It's been a bit upsy downsy for me.

This cat used up a life.

These turkey vultures are from 2016. There was a dead cat involved. Not ours. Thankfully.

That last vulture upon lift-off is very well timed!

Not quite as cute as robins, but welcome spring anyway.

Look at Wed afternoon, you will be above ZERO!!! Down here, fierce winds 2 hours south of us, colder 2 hours north of us, HUGE flooding many hours south on the West Coast. The vultures, they look like a bird to be wary of, but then, they have to eat to survive.

We had a dead deer half buried in a snowbank down here for a few weeks. I'm surprised the coyotes weren't flocking around for a feast.
I was outdoors throwing ashes on our front yard skating rink/driveway. Figured this sunny warm day would work with the ashes to get it down to gravel again. I could hear some new bird call but haven't seen anything other than chickadees and nuthatches as yet. There were lots of different songs coming from the big maple tree behind my daughter's place in Toronto!
