Eastern comma, Monarchs, Acrea Moth Caterpillar

Not only monarchs, but eastern comma and question marks. You can tell the difference between them by either a comma or a ? on their underside of their wings!

Here is one. I kept forgetting to check on it. This is on the back of my Muskoka chair. Lo, and behold!

Monarchs

One on a plant, then the 6-caterpillar milkweed. One died (just turned black), that leaves 5.

<= this is a photo from Wikipedia. I was curious, after someone ID'd the caterpillar for me. There are a great many people who know these things!

And a new one for me. It's a white moth, as an adult, with black spots and an underwing. I'm going to try watch it morph. It's in my aquarium. Eating and pooping!

And the kids...

They are taking a 5-week trip on reward points from Ottawa to Chicago, then overseas to Turkey, Ethiopia, on safari in Tanzania, then a week in Paris, quick flight to Zurich,  a half day in Singapore, and now Kuala Lumpur! These photos, the first is leaving Singapore. The last photo, Kuala Lumpur!

The life cycle always is amazing to me, and as the monarch cocoons darken, I wait, wanting it to happen faster... to see those huge wings unfold, and the butterfly flutter them to dry out.The others, this is very special, and for you to see them all, wonderful.

Yesterday I found another yellow (they look more white to me) woolly bear caterpillar and finally took some picture to post later. - Margy
