Aug. 19th – we went for a drive

Well, goodbye summer! We woke to 13 C. this morning. We went for a drive on Sunday. This was a drive we'd done in the spring, and spotted swans and geese! It's nearly time for the kidlets to go back to school. The weather will help.
I am feeling a bit more even-keeled, thank you all. We had a lovely day yesterday. Our kids are coming from Vancouver for Christmas. That will be fun! It's something to look forward to.

I love this pond. If you cannot live beside a lake, a pond is excellent.

This is what it looked like in spring!

This is a lovely spot, Canoe Lake.

There were quite a few trailers, with lots of boats.

This place is still for sale!

People had been on the water all day, and were just calling it a day. It was late afternoon. We were here in spring!

Something was going on: a convoy of four OPP, lights flashing, followed by a single one.

Around the World

Aug. 23
The kids were having a wonderful time in Kyoto. They had a tour guide, and her trainee, take them around. They paid for their entrance into various locales, but they were volunteers!
They found an excellent family restaurant. They had dinner there twice!

There appears to be TWO typhoons affecting the kids. They asked the airline, from their hotel in Narita, and they said 'we'll see'!

We went for a drive this week too, but in our case to escape from the thick smoke in Bellingham. We figured being in a car with recycled air conditioning would be better than breathing the ambient air, and staying in a hotel with air condition would also help. It did, and at the same time we got a mini-vacation even though we couldn't drive far enough to reach clear air. We are back in Bellingham and should only have a day or so more of the smoke before the weather system changes. Unfortunately, the fires are still burning in BC and WA. - Margy

Well, Yam, you know how far ahead you plan when you travel!

That smoke is something, as well as the fires, Margy. North and south of the border. It's frightening.

Two typhoon, Red, one where they are and one where they are headed! We're crossing our fingers.

I loved your photos comparing the pond in spring and now … amazing transformation. Continuing to pray for safe travels for your daughter and her family.
