NaPoWriMo Day 15 –doubles

Day 15

Dayspring

Hurry up spring in time
Arriving on the double
Feeling just a touch of warmth
The garden's full of rubble

Because today marks the halfway point in our 30-day sprint, today I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that incorporates the idea of doubles. You could incorporate doubling into the form, for example, by writing a poem in couplets.

Such sweet rhymes and picture to welcome Spring's arrival! I suppose by 'Arriving on the double" you mean double-digit temperature. You have a way with language that impresses me.

Now that is a challenge for me, my Dad was so good doing what he called " Doggerel" and every special occasion had a suitable piece of poetry. Would I be cheating so much if I copied one of his??? A wet morning, fire lit, coffee made, all is well.
