We had a plan

Happy Pi Day! It is March 14th, which is: 3/14 , which translates to π! JB bought himself a pie for breakfast. He sent this to Caitlin, to tell the girls!

"Grampa Joe is having PIE for breakfast,  ARE they SQUARED with the idea?"

We've shared lots of pies over the years. The first Caitlin made.

Firstly: daffodil evidence. They are raising their little shoots to glory!

We had an adventure. We went into town to get a Measles (MMR) booster shot from our Nurse at our GP's office. I have a hospice client, and I don't want to take risks.

On the way into town, this apartment building is coming along. I've been following its progress since 2012.

We stopped for a fire truck. From there we went for lunch in Smiths Falls. Then we took off for a drive.

Twas a nice drive. We were headed to Narrows Lock.

We passed the turn for Lake Eloida. This is where we took the girls swimming during Gramma Camp, 2021. Nearby, we passed this is great house with some fabulous lawn decor. We've been by here before

This is what we saw during a September, 2018 drive on this spot! I made JB turn around to go back and grab a photo.

All decked out for Easter!

The fields are turning green, way earlier than normal.

The rivers and lakes are quickly thawing.

Lots of people were out biking in the sunshine.

Tomorrow, we made it to Narrows Lock!

Pie for breakfast is a good idea EVERY day!

Great to have an adventure. We'll be in the 70s for a few days, then Mon. below freezing at night again. Poor plants and animals.

I had heard it was pie day but no pies in the house, yet! Such a cute idea with another special connection to your granddaughters. You must be happy to see your daffodils growing. As for the shots, I’ve been getting all kinds lately but never heard of the measles booster. I’ve heard it’s on the rise. I have a doctor’s appointment on the 18th so I will ask her. Thanks for mentioning that. Always interesting to see something being built. Yard art is always interesting. Looks like you had a productive and interesting trip out. Thanks for sharing with us.

It's Spring! Best not be fooled. ;) Pie sounds so good and I forgot to buy one yesterday, now way too far away from stores. :( Nice road trip.

The Merry-go-Round, how I loved the once a year visit when I was a child to Auckland, cannot remember quite where the show was held, but the horses on a platform, they went up and down, a delight to my eyes back then. Spring, down here the mornings are SO dark already, roll on daylight saving to come to an end in April.Did you get to ride on a merry-go-round when you were young, a ferris wheel?? or other entertainment delights?

We also bought a pie today. She will use it, somehow, in her daily photoshoot. Photographing food does not turn my crank. Hers neither, but she will make the best of it.

Hoi Jenn,

I enjoyed your photos and the blog itself, the text. Your fire trucks are so different from those here in the Netherlands. That makes it interesting. And sure enough, you've provided the evidence, the daffodils are coming. Nice, isn't it? And that house with all those Easter decorations. Do all people do that there? Not so much here actually. But my son, he works in a candy store, sells hundreds of chocolate Easter eggs. Yummy.

Happy Pi Day to you, too. I usually remember, but forgot this year. How sweet of JB to send a pie to Caitlin.
