I was looking at the conditions on the frogpond. It has melted, thawed, then refrozen. Today it is - 13˚ C., with possible freezing rain, and 10 - 15 cm predicted. I shoveled the sidewalk, after 3 cm yesterday. We shall see what happens! I gave the birds extra rations, as they usually know a storm is coming. I found a mice friend in the sunflower seed bin!
As always, you need not watch the whole clip, I try to choose the best thumbnail, but the behaviour always fascinates me and JB likes to see them!

So much activity going on out there!
We haven't seen deer around the house in quite awhile. Coyotoes, wolves, moose, foxes and fishers are frequent fliers though!
We saw a deer run across the highway a week or so back. When that poor thing leapt off the road over the snowbank and into the snow, she was belly deep. She had a hard time running off into the woods. Yes, we have a good three feet of snow up in our immediate vacinity! The moose don't seem to sink too deep with their big snowshoe feet.
Clover is very good company.

I feel SO sorry for that poor doe with the sprained leg. I just want to take her to a vet!
It seems like your deer population gets larger all the time.
I love this. You can tell that she really trusts you.
Wild animals live a tough life. Sometimes proximity to people helps them, but often we just provide more hazards. I'm glad the mouse is free :)
