Canadians!
Since 2014 Wimbledon, no other country has had *six* unique Grand Slam semi-finalists, with three of each gender:
What is amazing is most of them are first generation Canadians, immigrants looking for a better/different life.
Incredibly powerful. ❤️

Leylah Annie Fernandez's father, Jorge, chats with @markhmasters about what it means to represent Canada as an immigrant family. 🇨🇦 pic.twitter.com/d6SU5jgL44
At one of the games, they honoured 9 women who fought for equal pay for female tennis players.
An aside, I love the suit.

All, except Genie, children of recent immigrants.
Leylah will be in very tough today, but she has on other days and prevailed. We shall see.
...the world would be a sad place with immigrants!
I don't know about other countries, but Roumania, where I'm originally from, has always encouraged talent in almost any field, including sports (remember Nadia Comaneci?). Andreescu would have reached the top of international tennis in Roumania too, no doubt about that.
Great players.
Oh my gosh! A Pacman suit?
