Operation Inspiration

Our snowbirds flew by. It's "Operation Inspiration."
They were flying from Ottawa to Perth, Smiths Falls and then on to Belleville. We were pumped. On their Twitter feed they said they were 10 minutes late leaving. So, 10:40 they were leaving. It was so cold!

I could hear people on Otty Lake cheering. They saw them in Perth, I read online. It was too cloudy for us! Such a disappointment.

Lots of people captured them, though.

It's quite cold these days. This is not normal May weather. We average around 16 C., as I recall.

The daffodils are still fine.

The rose-breasted grosbeaks are back! It's amazing how different they are, males and females.

COVID–19 continues to shape our lives. The LCBO, where JB went to get me some wine.

Apparently, Cinnamon went down to the dock. This is the first time. They ducks were wary, and hopeful he'd feed them, too! I put cracked corn in the pot.

Butch raccoon made a visit, as well.

How neat to have the snowbirds go over. We sure have a lot of birds moving through here right now. May be too soon to go North though! Love your post and video! Have a beautiful weekend!

Hello, pretty daffies. The Grosbeaks are one of my all time favorite birds. As of yesterday I was still seeing a female Grosbeak here.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend. PS, thank you for the visit and comment.

It seems like the cool weather is letting the Daffodils last a lot longer than normal! I guess the Snowbirds are flying over here too? I'll have to check.

I love the grosbeaks. I imagine the females are colored this way for camouflage protection when nesting.

Apparently the Snowbirds were on the way to Toronto but turned back at Trent because the ceiling was too low. Maybe tomorrow!

I'm sorry you had cloud-cover. We have nothing like your organized viewing of migration.

We had snow, record-breaking cold this morning. I thin it likely froze many of the fruit blossoms. We had freeze warnings. I'm in southwestern PA, USA, nearly West Virginia.

Anyway, I enjoyed your narrative and your photos. Have a great weekend!

Love your daffodils.
We have been enjoying good weather, although apparently during the night tomorrow our temperatures will drop to 2 Celsius. It seems many of my blogging friends have been having snow! Brrr

All the best Jan

I trust you will enjoy your wine. I should get a new box someday. I am not much of a drinker of any kind. A box of wine can easily last me for two months.

We live to the north of CFB Trenton and didn't see the snowbirds as they flew more south and by the lake. Our grosbeaks have returned too, still waiting for the hummers but it is so cold right now, I'm sure the hummer feeder was frozen the other morning!
