This was April 28. Chorus frogs are done for the season.
We made it to Narrows Locks. It was quite busy!

Somebody was fishing.
I love them. A grouse on hormones. They are always a bit weird at this time of year.
Cottagers have been showing up in cottage country. There is some consternation and ill-will about it.
AFter we passed the 'cottages', we found some water and chorus frogs!
Beyond this, the other side of the road, is more wetland. There were hundreds of them! This I named Site D: 202-2 North Shore Rd.
The ponds are coming to life.
I love the flat rocks.

That was a pretty good driveabout.
I suppose if the cottagers were to bring all of their own provisions, it wouldn't be so bad. But still . . .

Love the water scenes and my favorite...the grouse.
I can understand people wanting to go to their cottages to just get away but this is not a good time for that. What will happen when the warm weather comes and stays remains to be seen!

Looks like a nice drive!
Down here, you cannot travel to your cottage or bach, if you were there at the start of lockdown, that is where you have to stay. In the Marlborough Sounds at the top of the South Island, so many are in their cottages there and have to have provisions delivered by boat, in the very isolated places where the only access is by water. Very wet here, rained all night, fire is lit, more sewing maybe.
The peepers were pretty noisy here on the weekend, but I 'm not hearing them this evening. Guess the cold has them hunkered down?
We had to go to Morrisburg to collect our car today. Traffic was light going down but we returned via Dwyer Hill Road. I've never seen that much traffic on that road before. Where were all those people going? There was so much tractor trailer traffic on the 401 and 416 too. I wasn't about to drive a car that was new to me in that tangle. Apparently the cottagers are quite thick around our area already.
It’s beautiful countryside where you live, the frogs are fun to see and hear ,,, a sign of spring for sure! I can see why with all that’s going on the locals (you)?) might resent the vacation cottages coming in with possibly their outside viruses.
