Chorus frog on Code Road
My plan is to take the girls out to listen for them next week. We'll see how that works out. There are those dissing others for driving about. I'm not sure why. You're enclosed in a car! One dude out east in Newfoundland [@stan_sdcollins] takes amazing photos and has vowed to stop doing that due to complaints by trolls.
The researchers looked at my area, and determined from satellite images where I'm to look. (What could go wrong?!) I told them two spots I know of, our frog pond and Code Rd., but there you go.
JB and I took a drive to visit the two areas where I'm to look, um, listen. There were several people out walking. It's too cold, right now. It needs to be above 10˚ C. for me to hear them. It was sunny, and 8˚ or 9˚ C. where I was looking. I've now got an idea of my two assigned locations. Site 300 and site 301, they are named.
The horses were a bonus!
There is still ice on the lake, but it'll go soon.
I hope you all are safe and sound. I keep seeing surprises on my trailcam!

Glad you’re feeling better. Happy hUnting . . . Listening.
LOL @ Isabelle!
I hope you enjoy your frog time! I don't think I've ever heard those around here, we mostly heart the spring peepers, but probably won't for another few weeks now.
...I don't know that frogs were out and about this early.
Trail cam fun. Good luck hearing the frogs
Good choice of an activity while distancing. You are doing such a wonderful thing for your grandchildren. - Margy
We cannot drive anywhere without a valid reason, grocery shopping or a medical visit. No meeting for coffee, our highlight will be to the Dr on 9th for the flu vaccination. We have had the first death here in NZ, huge sadness for the family and all of us,
The frogs will be out today if it gets as warm as they say it is going to.
Jen that was so NICE to hear even if it sounded like a comb ? LOL
I grew up as a child listening to Spring "peepers" and absolutely loved them .. I have always had a thing for frogs even as far back when I was about 2 years old (talk about ancient history !) I had one (captured) called Alfred and dearly loved the little guy ... You brought back some cute memories !
Thank you
Joy ;-)
Neat hearing the frogs on your video!
I have done amphibian surveys in the past. The great thing is that there are only a few species, and they are loud, so it is easy to remember them. Won't be long before Spring Peepers are deafening us! And speaking of deafening, in our corner of the world, everyone has really caught on to banging pots and pans in support of essential workers, so at 7:30 pm the noise starts up! We join in with gusto!
Love the bullfrog and horses ~ neat photos ~ Yes, lots of motorcycles out on the weekend ~ not so many people walking, though ~ interesting ~
