Annabelle's haircut

Saturday, Annabelle had a grooming session. We started in the bathroom, popping her on a towel on the counter. I had the clippers, and the rear end. JB had her head. She growled a bit!

Apparently, there are How Tos for shaving a cat: How to Shave a Cat (with Pictures) - wikiHow. Too late!

We have cordless 'dog' clippers. It makes a the difference.
I started with her chest, as it was thick with mats. She has dandruff on her back, too. JB held her, she growled at me, but I got her done.

Then, Sunday, I noticed a few more spots and wanted to make her even. I might have taken off a bit too much... I confess.🙋
She was sitting in the sunlight, and I thought I'd take a bit more off. You know how you do that cutting hair... I did it once to my daughter's hair. Things didn't go well. As I told her, it will grow back.

We brush her when we can.
BEFORE

AFTER
Annabelle likes the front porch, as does Hooper. Even after her grooming sessions, she'll sit here in the cold in the sun.

We watched TV together, that night. Two snuggle pusses!

Hooper is giving his sister a hard time. She is unfazed by it all. She was rescued from a barn, and this little punk doesn't scare her! He's been housebound, and somewhat antsy. I've taken to keeping a jar of treats beside my chair, and I fire them down the hallway for them. They seem to love the exercise!

The joy of long-haired cats. We used ot get our Persian shaved like a lion.

Did I miss something? Why did you shave her? She looks distinctly put out about it.

I didn't realize cats had to be groomed.

My daughter has a silver persian that gets quite matty. When she first got her she was a horrible mess. Daughter and the boyfriend had a go at clipping her and she looked pretty awful. Now she takes her to our groomer neighbour who clips her to look like a lion. I don't know which is worse!

Even with regular combing and brushing some cats get matted patches. I have a friend, her cat has to go to the vet and be sedated for her clipping. You both did so well to manage this at home.It will grow.

heh heh, I was wondering (as I read through your post) how this would end up but you did a pretty good job and Annabelle didn't retaliate. Well done Jenn :D)

I cut Wayne's hair now. One day I forgot to put on the clip-on attachment to gauge the length. I made a full swipe up from the nape of his neck to the back of his head before I realized what I did. Good thing he wears a hat almost everywhere. It took about two weeks for finally grow back in. He was good about it and didn't fire me from my "job." - Margy
