Fall clean up

🍁Fall Chores

Somebody, with his bad back, is finding indoor work. Spring Fall cleaning the bathroom cupboard. He took expired drugs to the pharmacy. Old age is complicated, and between backs, knees, arthritis, and eye issues, we are holding our own!

I have a lot of eaves to clean out. I took a shot at the house, the maple in front just fills the eaves over the garage. It went well. I took my time, dressed for it, as it was chilly. The Catalpa tree has just about lost leaves. I climbed up the ladder.

The Catalpa tree leaves are huge, and just plaster the ground.

This is a view we only see in the cold season. It is out the bathroom window. We are having more branches taken down on Monday. The highway is beyond the trees and the traffic noise is not a baffled by the leaves.

Next job will be the shed. This was a frosty morning. That's two mild frosts!

The skies are wonderful in the fall!

This is the lowest roof we have. It's easy to get up there. I just have to wait for the maple to leave its burden

The maple tree is done, the catalpa trees still holds its leaves. I did all these eaves yesterday in the sun.

I took some quick photos during the day. The horse chestnut leaves kept dropping. I'm not sure if the video demonstrates this!

I've done the driveway several times. They blow all the way along the 100m.

I had a new respite client on Thursday. It was a lovely visit. It is wonderful being useful, and getting out of the house. As I arrived home, there were two deer munching on the grass. They hung around until after dinner.

I like the turntable in the medicine cabinet. I've used clear plastic shoe boxes, without the lids to put stuff in deep cabinets. Then I just pull it out like a drawer. Those are amazing big leaves! And that's a really tall ladder: hmmm, you live dangerously. Lovely sequencing of your tree losing it's leaves. Please be careful. Linda in Kansas

At our first house there was a row of catalpa trees along the sidewalk next to a busy street. For some reason most of the leaves did not end up in our yard :-)

You are such a hard worker.

Whatever plants are out there will be hit hard tonight. I expect our petunia pots to be done.

Glad you were careful (of course) with clearing the eves. Good looking bathroom organization. Wish I had a cabinet like that! So nice to see your deer, and a bird was flying buy also.

There was a little frost on Grey's window this morning... Nearly November, only to be expected. Been a pretty decent autumn here though. Grateful for that. YAM xx

We had a horse chestnut tree at our previous home, one year I collected some 20 plus HUGE bags of leaves and spread them under the firewood trees.Down here, getting ready for spring to summer. Garden goodies have been thinned out, driveway water-blasted, bird netting over the vege beds. But a cool morning and unseasonable snow in the south, not good for the late lambing that happens down there. Our Labour Day holiday today.

Well done on the chores. Garden chores never end do they. I would love to see deer.

There's always something to get done. Loved the deer.

So many leaves, the sky is beautiful. The leaves are falling here as well, I'm doing some half hearted pick-ups, but trying to wait for the trees to be clear before I really go for it.

Fall cleanup is a big job, especially with your property. And you've had frost! We're still waiting for ours. Rain and sun today.

Always enjoy my visits Jenn. A lot to do for sure. Loved your photos and the videos. They give a feel for the changing season. We will have the first frost tonight.

I'm not allowed to climb ladders anymore. Fortunately we only have one big tree and very few leaves in the eave troughs.

I think you are doing very well with the different chores you are doing.

mom and dad need to that. i was just chatting about it ... i did remind her about it. i always say it is something i never thought about when i was a kid ...that my parents would make it to their 80's. i mean i hoped they would but having them there and dealing with this and that. not that they are with to many troubles but run of the mill ones ... is a time. takes patience. etc. u take care. Our neighbor in Chicago had a catalpa tree too and the leaves always intrigued me. You work so hard that you're making me feel guilty. I need to get out there and do some weeding.
