Sunday afternoon, Oct. 20, I could hear an ambulance roaring by. It caught my attention, since the lights were flashing, then the siren began. Still people didn't pull over. They were honking their horn to get stupid people out of their way. It turns out a man and toddler were out canoeing and fell out of the canoe. He got them to an island, but the canoe blew away in the wind. NO lifejackets. The OPP used the canoe to rescue them. Oh, city people.
In other news, a 16-year-old girl was arrested for the murder of a 15-year-old in Perth, ON, on Friday afternoon, Oct. 25th. It has been a shock to many of us. The town population is about 6500, and lots of people know one another. We live 5 km out of town, but it still hits hard.
Back to nature...
The milkweed seeds are good to go!The cottontail is adorable!
The blue jays are happy with the feeder.
The mice friends are regular visitors, as well.
Talking to a friend, she mentioned her issue with mice. It was in 2014 that Dorah would watch for deermice here. I ended up trapping some. I put them in the cat carrier so she wouldn't get into the traps.

Oh my! I see no evidence of snow here.
The news is very alarming these days.
Love the critters, the bunny is a favorite.
Snow already, it is still dry here and day time temps are in the 60's.
Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week ahead.
Oh my. Snow already?
I so often turn to nature when I despair of our species.
Glad to hear the people were rescued. They should have had life jackets on for sure.
Not snow! We usually have some by now but today it is 50 some degrees F.
Mr Fisher sure had something good to eat...was there bird seed or something there? Couldn't see Mr. Cottontail after he left in the first shot. Cats are supposed to control mice populations, but then they want to give their owners their kill usually. Mmm, is a trap more humane? Depends on how much your kitty loves hunting perhaps.
I still find your fisher funny-looking. I've not seen them except in your videos. The snow looks lovely. It's too soon. Linda in Kansas
Love all your videos!
Life's intense in your world. I always worry when I hear an ambulance in heavy traffic and there is nowhere to go.
I have a neighbor who is a para medic. He rarely complains about traffic but then Tyson rarely complains about anything.
The metal roofs of our buildings were white this morning.
Taking a toddler out like that at all esp with no life jacket --- that's worse than stupidity. So is not getting out of the way of emergency vehicles~ sadly both kinds of things have happened around here also. ... on a happier note, your Autumn nature shots are lovely. Thanks!
I love your videos with all the little wildlings. The glowing eyes are fitting for Halloween :) Pretty snowfall! Sorry to read about all the awful happenings. Shaking my head at the little one not having a life jacket. And the murder, how very sad and awful. We had a murder in our neighborhood years ago which was a complete shock. Highschoolers involved with drugs. Totally unexpected for what we think of as a quiet neighborhood but drugs are everyone it seems.
That's scary news. I guess you're not immune to bad things happening in Canada either. I wish we didn't have the crime we have here in Hawaii.
