October has been busy

There is lots to do outside. I'm just taking my time. Someone put his back out and he's still looking after it.

  • Tuesday I did the leaves, mulching them and the pine needles, and did some lawn.
  • Switched out the bird bath for the heated bird bath. (Thanks again, AC!)
  • Tried to put the bird feeder stand up. Crooked. Gotta try again. It started raining after I rested. Pfftt.
  • I caught another little frog. Almost. No luck. I missed. Twice. Jeremiah sleeps for the winter.

The water fountain is covered, and ready for winter. The pagan lights need some help. A couple of strands are not working. Nothing lasts these days. You have to be really careful in matching the plugs. (Non-mental note!)

I had wrapped up the bench swing, then the winds blew! I started again and secured it a little more effectively! I don't mind doing a job once.. 😏

Back to it. THIS is secure!

The sun has disappeared for a few days. No precipitation to speak of, but there is a chill in the air. The sun warms me up enough to manage outside, but it's been hiding. I played with these two images. I could not decide which I prefer.

Dark skies! I mulched the leaves again. It is terribly satisfying.

Joe has been watching football on his TV. Nutmeg likes to keep him company. It's not cold enough to put a fire on, but that day is approaching.

Just for fun, a brief power outage. All the clocks had to be reset!

The good news is that the biting bugs are slowly going to sleep. We've ticks. Nutmeg brought Joe one, and Cinnamon shared another with me. Since they invented the anti-tick goop for cats, things have improved. This year is about the same as last year.

Always very nice to see around your house. You have such a lovely property. A lot of work I know but it must be very rewarding. Looks a very comfortable area for Joe to watch his football. Gregg has been doing the same. Nutmeg seems to enjoy her place at the window too.

Nutmeg and Cinnamon are so generous and caring for sharing like that! Good idea being proactive with the preparations for the winter, it could be here before you know it!

Ticks are still out here. My brothers littlest dog seems to attract them. You did a great job covering the lawn swing hope it holds! I will begin mulching next week again...hopefully I will get it all done before it snows!

We had our first sub 40F morning today. I love it when the bugs go away and the snakes go into brumation.

You have been busy. And productive.
You are cooling down and we are warming up. It will be 26C here today. And hopefully the rain predicted for this evening will fall.

Good you know to just keep doing things easily, without pushing yourself. Of the two pics you're considering, I like the second best (at least on my monitor) because of less deep shadows.

Well done! And out of those two almost identical photos, I like the top one the best. Oh, and power outages cause a lot of hassle. Time stands still for a moment, and then you have to set all the clocks forward afterward.

I'm hoping to get out and cut down the rest of my plants this Sunday if the weather is as nice as they say. Not as much to do here as you have.

Don't you just hate it when you have to reset all clocks.
