Daffodils, deer, turkey

First things first, Black Lives Matter. That's all. There won't be justice, that is impossible, too many are being lost to systemic racism. It is accountability, so says the Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. It's a step forward.

Our premier, Doug Ford, who has been ineffective with delayed responses to the pandemic by not following the health teams recommendations, has been quarantined since an aide in his office has been tested positive for COVID–19.  It serves him right, as he hasn't taken his own advice and stayed put.

Small mistake in the chyron, but hubby's comment, "Thank goodness we've traded premiers!" made me laugh.

OK, back to nature She doesn't fool the birds! I might put a bright collar on her. So far, she doesn't get them.

We've a pair of deer hanging around...
Their coats look somewhat rough, as they are losing their winter coats. I offered the brush her, but she declined!

I woke at 2 a.m., and saw the motion sensor light on. There were four deer nibbling on our grass in the dark and the snow was falling. doe

Somehow, the camera slipped down the tree during the day! I was aiming for the nest box opening. I have to remember to tip it when I visit today. (Nonmental note!)

You can hear a lone spring peeper in the video. Cinnamon came along and meows, as well. The wood duck box on the right is the one with the 10 -12 eggs. I peeked once, seeing her fly off, but since it is so cold I've been really quiet around it.

During the afternoon we had a wild turkey visit. They are approaching mating season, and their heads turn lovely colours.

By the morning, the front looked like this! We've had 5 cm snow, and it's still falling. It's melting on the sidewalk and driveway.

Our daffodils and bent, but not broken!

The poor little daffodils!

The tulips were just about ready for spring.

If Manitoba doesn't mind having their premier come in and do our premier's job, I'd be happy.

...and my yard looks like yours this morning.

Still snowing at 8:45. Daffs can survive a lot.

My flowers look like that today too.

Oh my, snow in April and we're having a heat wave! What a great country we live in.
Covid is still rearing its ugly head here, too. Our restrictions have never been as stringent as yours, but we are having more of them just now. Our vaccinations are April 29 and I hope more and more people get them. My husband works in long term care and the numbers there are declining rapidly because almost everyone is vaccinated.

I do like daffodils -- and the deer seem to not!

My computer just went wacky so I am not sure my previous comment went through. But what I said was, I always enjoy your photos and videos. I am not sure if we will get more snow here but you never know. Right now it is windy and we have whirligigs flying down from the trees like snow. And living in hope here that we are moving forward.

That is some serious snow. It's not nice. We are in for snow in a few hours so we get ours.

Jenn - love the turkey facing off with the "crow". We had a glorious day on Saturday and then Sunday brought a wild wind storm with 3 inches of snow. Yep Spring in Montana! Fortunately, not much has really come up yet around our place!
