They've been reluctant to go outdoors! |
The recent snowfall meant perfect little tracks...
Red squirrel, Hooper, turkeys, and the final one: Hooper and mice friends.
I went out the next day...Mr. Sun was out! No matter how cold, seeing the sun makes such a difference.
Little mice, and maybe a squirrel?!
The coyote came by, but avoided the trailcam. Smartass! I tracked him across the back of the frog pond, through the pond, along the path across the meadow, and up the hill towards the house. The cold went right through me, just too cold and I gave up. I hauled some wood in, so JB can watch his curling in the warm basement by the fire.
Trailcam Videos
The danged coyote totally skipped around the camera. (I moved it, but don't tell him! Shhh...) His tracks go around the back of the trees, here. Our bucks are much more co-operative!
I arrange the settings so that you can see the main subject of the video. You don't have to watch it, normally, to see the subject. In this case, the subject is just a bit too quick! You can see her at the edge of the camera light, on the right, headed for the trees.
I'd say this is a snowshoe hare. What do you think?! :-)I love them when they do selfies for me!

I designed Eileen's meme thumbnail. Isn't it fun, interacting with people you have never met?!

I love how your trailcams give the time, moonphase, temp etc... and capture all those critters. Love the shot of Hooper and Annabelle; can't blame them for snuggling!!! YAM xx
Your header shot is amazing! I enjoy seeing deer. I have a trail cam and put out corn so I can get pics. Happy Saturday.
I am with the cats - snow on the ground, snuggle up and stay warm!
Have a great weekend!
Yes, it's cold, but I'm still tempted to go out for a bit since it's so bright and not too windy. But maybe I will remain sensible.
Wonderful videos!
It is bone cold out there.
Too cold for me, keep that fire going. The videos are wonderful, and to see all the different animals just great,no coyotes down here, and the hares are more often in paddocks or very rarely running across the roads we travel.
You did a great job on Eileen's thumbnail!
...smart coyotes in your neck of the woods!
Your videos are great, I really enjoyed them. Lots of critters passing through your area. I love that deer selfie, it was perfect. :)
I like the game cam also. So far we have seen 3 raccoon, a coyote, several deer, a big striped cat and a beaver in the stream. Fun

A sudden cold spell is hard to get used to.
winter is well underway!
Hello! Wonderful pictures and the deer is so cute!
Your cats are adorable! I really enjoyed your videos!
Have a happy Sunday!
Dimi...
Hello. I like those videos. You have so many different animals and birds there.
I wonder if you have one of those field guides for tracking animals? I guess you learn many by watching the animals concerned. It must be so interesting having so many mammals. Very few here in Britain, even less in gardens.
I do have a tracking guide, Phil. It's a laminated, fold up thingie. It is great.
We've been here 8 years, now, so there is seldom anything new for me.
We were 4 years further north, too.
I would recommend one, though!
Interesting. I love to discover tracks in the woods. Around my condo, it's dogs, cats and rabbits. A bear was sited in the neighborhood last spring but I didn't see it.
Hi Jen,
thank you for your visit and also for your nice comment about the owls.
I also appreciate that you give a reaction to my late grandson Jahnay.
This does me very well :-)
I also see many beautiful pictures and also many beautiful videos of different animals. This is very nice done :-)
Greetings, Helma
I just love sharing your trail cam views ... honestly you have as many animals and birds as lots of public parks...just wonderful. The new thumbnail for Eileen’s meme is great...you are so talented.
