I don't really feature my chair much. It's called the Hand of God. Well, that's what I call it. TZ had a question. I did not carve it!
We used to drive by it in Port Carling when caring for my late father in 2006-2007. After he died, I bought it. It was their signature piece. It is carved from a teak tree piece. There is only a small cross piece that is attached.
A year ago, I stained it with Australian Timber Oil. It looks terrific.
Things are getting chilly. The leaves simply aren't as terrific this year.
The shed looks sweet in the greens. Soon all this foliage will be done.
🦃 We are preparing for Thanksgiving. In Canada it is next weekend, however, JL is traveling to the US for a conference. Last time he did that he brought COVID back with him. We are going to play it safe. There is a buzz in the house, as we do our preparations.
I sent Grampa in to find a turkey and cranberries. He was successful, although it took several shopping trips. Things are selling out, it appears.
We have two bar fridges (blame the previous homeowners!), and it just fits. There will be leftovers! Yippee.

...your Thanksgiving is at a more appropriate time!
Yes, autumn is slow and not as inspiring as usual.
What a beautiful chair! Is it as comfortable as it looks?
What a cool chair! And I love what you have done to it.
I have to admit, I am somewhat ignorant on Canadian holidays, but I am learning through your blog and others!

"Someone" chose very pretty flowers indeed! Golly... here come turkey burgers, turkey curry, turkey kebabs... maybe even a chowder... 😂 YAM xx
I love your chair, you really improved it with the stain - brings out all the lovely carving! What a wonderful piece. Such a great time of year, hopefully no covid this time around.
I love left over turkey especially sandwiches.
Oh what fun to prepare for Thanksgiving. Are any family going to join you? Yeah for left overs from the feast. A very important part of the event these days! But woe must have been the case for the original Thanksgivers, without refrigeration they just had to keep eating and eating till it was all gone. Or giving it away. Sorry your trees didn't put on a show. I have no idea what ours will do, as mid Oct. is usually the peek. Hope I'll be home by then.
Oh my goodness. I love the chair!! It is soooo neat! Happy Thanksgiving week...turkey and cranberries sound so good. Do ya'll make stuffing or what we call in the South....Dressing? I think I have finally learned to make chicken and Dressing the way my mom always made it. It's what I always look forward to at Thanksgiving...
Your chair is a beauty! Nice that you got flowers!! Covid ios on the upswing here...we got our boosters so we hope that helps and of course living like hermits:)
