It's the season for it! A bit cooler, and lots of moisture overnight. September brings them to life. Funnily enough, just like the leaves, there isn't much diversity of colour.
There are a lot of mushrooms around here just now. I don't feel confident picking edibles in the forest, but there are lots of people who do. Wooded side roads have lots of cars parked there as people hunt for chanterelles. The rain we've had will help. Not much colour here yet, although there are glimpses. Nights are definitely cooling down. I pulled all the green bean plants from the garden today and brought in some tomatoes.

Looks like you really had fun with the puffballs.

Sis and I found a lovely little village of Mushies the other day - one of the best things about the falling year! YAM xx
Do you harvest any?
There's no end of kinds of fungus. Well maybe that's stretching it.

So those little puffer 'shrooms depend on critters or pokey little people to spread those spores around. How funny of a method.

You found some cool ones.
Nice selection of fungi there! Puffballs are such fun!
They are so mysterious and there is so much more to them than we ever knew
We had a dry spell but for the last week it's just drizzled all day. Soon the mushrooms will pop.
Wow! You have such a huge variety of mushrooms. I'm wondering if they're edible.
