The goldfish are in, but I had to put a barrier in as Cinnamon likes them. We're down several, but no one seems to be able to get in new supplies. They are fancy goldfish, not Koi, but by July [Critters are all around us!], I was down to six.
Soon, I will dead head all the plants. I still have petunias!
UPDATE: downspout
I rejigged the support straps. I added one, moved another down and the other up. There was blood! Those straps are sharp. We really need larger downspouts, what with the dumps of rain.
I used a rivet gun to firmly attach two sets of pieces. I just don't have the arm strength, though.
Birdbath
One morning I awoke, and there was ice on the bird bath. I put in the heater. It's tricky, since the raccoons and deer like to disconnect it from the extension cord.
This is what Nutmeg has been up to. I am hoping she can't catch them.
Nutmeg birding from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo. She usually grabs rodents, at 90% or her catch. Very few birds, and some snakes.
Water fountain
Oct. 18 there looked like rain. We change up our days, well, I do, to plan my outdoor chores. I'm still waiting for the fountain to dry before I can cover it up.
Not a drop of rain! Then, Oct. 16, we had 12 mm. I'm back to square one, waiting for it to dry! It's decent to have projects!
Rake middle deck & drain both hoses...you can see why.
Every morning I trek on down to the trailcams. It's good exercise for a senior, as it involves up and down hill, stepping over forest debris, which sharpen my balance. JB continue to walk 2 or 3 times around the property for exercise and stress relief. His rotator cuff is still giving him horrible pain. He is at physio as I write this. He has exercises, which he does faithfully several times a day.
We had winds, which took down the leaves. I did grab photos, though!

Your fall list is getting shorter. It's a rainy day here, and I'm sorting the basement for things for the thrift store. How fun is that!!!!
Awesome photos and busy, busy ~ Nutmeg is almost as busy as you are ~ Wow! ~ What a work out! ~ Happy Week to you ~ Xox to Nutmeg and family ~

Good to get the chore list whittled down, good for you!
Hello,
It is good to have so many things crossed off your list of chores.
love the colorful trees and sky shots.
Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
You are always so busy. You make me feel quite lazy! ;-)
You will be all snug for winter when you finish your list.
When you're done there . . .
Yikes! That’s a lot of blood. However, you are so accomplished with home maintenance. My husband gets knicks, cuts and scratches too. We don’t have many seasonal preparations here in Hawaii. Usually it’s just preparation for the hurricane season.
...gloves are a good idea.
Just caught up on your posts, Jen. We have a tree leaning against another tree and they make a very creepy sound in the wind. Took us ages to figure out where the noise was coming from. Where they meet is very high up so even on windless days there is a tiny sound like a moan. EEK.
Anyway, you both are keeping busy. You sound like me with the list of all the fall things to get done before the snow flies. I'm toting wood these days with us having a fire every morning in the main room. We have put out the trail cam...after seeing yours, and so far we have captured fox and rabbits. That was fascinating to see the fisher. Gloomy here today with light rain all day.
hope u r well this week. and will get all your list checked off soon??! so sorry you did hurt yourself. i have been leaf blowing, raking and taking of so many leaves. i had 2 ... every year never fails if i don't get them up quick enough the neighborhood dogs think they can pooh on our property. so disrespectful. really gets me worked up. i don't get why that is okay or that they don't think it is not cool?? please pick up after your doggies. i don't even have one??!! i was so sad when i didn't know it was there and took it into my camper on my shoes ... it was so gross. sorry for that .. i know it was not a happy story ...but i wish i knew what i could do to help those folks who are not very kind to understand how important it truly is. remind that sign ... like a little puppy who is poohing and ...don't recall the words but it is kind of cute. wish i could find one .. i would totally buy it. ( ;
Fall gives us lots to do. With the early coming of winter here there are a few jobs that will not get done. After raking leaves many times I still have leaves to rake.
You are going through your fall chores quite nicely. Looks like Nutmeg is keeping busy too. Dead heading the plants is on my to do list as well. Fall colours look beautiful there!
