Monarchs, deer, turkeys

It was a surprise. I thought all our monarchs were gone. We tried putting a sticker on a monarch last week, when the grandkids were here. We couldn't catch one. Tuesday morning, I spotted two newly emerged. The one flew away, the other died in the garden.

A few crepuscular clouds... thanks to them for our recent rains!

Then, there are the trailcams. The same hen with chicks.

Then, a trio of turkeys, 3 toms. They caught the interest of the doe and fawns!

Butch raccoon, and then, since the trailcam light was on, it attracted the bugs, and then the bats! Silly photos, but it is fun seeing them in the night, eating the bugs!

Up the hill they went... turkey, followed by the fawns. This is the 2nd trailcam.

Some very dramatic skies! We just had a downpour come through. It seems to be done though.

What a beautiful monarch, just love its colouring and the pink blooms too.

All the best Jan

Too bad you did't get your Monarch.

I have been watching for bats, but I think I have only seen one … we put out a bat box this year, but it has not attracted any (as a living space). Maybe it takes a little while. We certainly have plenty of bugs around here for them to eat!
