The strong winds blew right across the province.

Our kids are fine, their power came back up Saturday. They have had power come back up for most of Ottawa. This was where it was at the first few days. There were 53 homes ruined in Ottawa, more in Gatineau.
Ottawa Hydro outages on the 23rd. |
It is a slow process. |
Power outages as of Monday, Sept. 24th Pretty good getting people back up. |
Ontario's Hydro One
Most of south eastern Ontario is back up. Most of Central Ontario (below) should be up within 48 hours, everyone by the end of the week. Across Ontario over 400,000 customers have had their power restored. Workers are at it 16 hours a day.
Sept. 24th
Regarding our two Ontario tornados, one was an F3, the other an F2. Publics schools are closed Monday, our grandies are happy about that! Our kids have the day off, as well. A bonus family day! Their power came back on after about 24 hours. Ours was off over Friday night. There is still power off in many communities across southern Ontario.
Hydro Ottawa says that this morning, 3,570 customers remain without power. "Some still affected by outages are in Arlington Woods, where devastation was greatest. Our crews continue to work to restore power in this heavily damaged area." Many homes were flattened or rendered uninhabitable. You can read more Twitter info, and view photos, on my page, here.
Sept. 23rd
In the meantime, both Ontario Hydro and Ottawa Hydro are bringing people back up onto the power grid. First Responders are still out there, especially the OPP. Chainsaws are being fired up, and people are being warned. Food safety is an issue, the freezers thawing. Ontario has Disaster Recovery Assistance.
Ottawa Hydro's outage map went down with the sheer volume.
In Kitchissippi, Coun. Jeff Leiper put up an online map of outages for people to edit themselves, in place of Hydro Ottawa’s, which shocked even him with its popularity.
Police are givings warnings:

Police are givings warnings:
As we enter day two of recovery, take care of yourself, take your time cleaning up and please check on your neighbour.
There were two tornadoes, F3. Gatineau, as well as Ottawa (Arlington Woods, Craig Henry, Greenbank Rd.: places where I lived), and people are either evacuated, being put up by Red Cross, or repairing.
I used to live near Greenbank Rd., this is startling! One guy spent two hours on the phone waiting for his insurance company to answer the phone.
Friday, to Saturday, Sept. 22
Friday
Well, I woke at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, hoping that we had power. We did. It was off from 7:30 Friday night until 3:30 this morning. I cannot imagine places like Puerto Rico, without power for months. We sat and read by flashlight, then konked out in bed. We were watching a video! There are quite a few social media posts about the tornado in Ottawa/Gatineau. The winds were wicked all day, culminating in a mess: 🌧️SEPT. 🍁.

The station that was hit is a primary hub for power.
Primary refers to the voltage level. Primary is 27600v or 13800v high voltage lines. Secondary is the low voltage 120/240V fed from distribution transformers.— Reese the Bad Dog (@ReeseTheBadDog) September 23, 2018

The power went out Sept. 21st, at about 8 p.m., and came back on around 3:30 a.m. A tornado went through Ottawa/Gatineau: AKA The National Capital Region. Dunrobin was heavily hit. We went to bed and read by flashlight. CBC video tells of a child nearly sucked up in the tornado.
