What a lovely day we had!

Such an unusual weather pattern. We are expecting freezing rain tonight. We should have a nice protective layer of snow. Daisy and I had walkies, down to look at the wobbly tree. (More on that later! It's going to come down sometime.) I grabbed a video of it moving in our big winds.
Meantime, the sunflower seed from the bird feeder has begun to sprout. It's highly unusual.

We ordered a turkey from Hayter's. Grain-fed, free run, it was 18.75 lbs.! Our local store gets them in.
Caitlin made fresh cranberry sauce, JL made gravy and did up the mashed potatoes. It was a group effort, for sure. I remember the good old days when I wasn't even allowed in the kitchen with mom and dad. Dad swearing over carving the turkey! It's much more fun sharing the process.

What a lovely start to the morning. We're watching Wild Kratts Christmas show, hubby brought me my first cup of coffee, Caitlin brought me my 2nd. Hubby went off to fetch gas for the snowblower. We are actually expecting SNOW!
It's my birthday and I get to open MORE presents today!!! More photos later!

Happy Birthday, Jennifer. That roast turkey looked wonderful! 80 plus km winds here on Dec. 24th. Many boards blown off my empty old barn. At least my power stayed on.

There's nothing like free range birds. 18 pounds? You will need help to eat that one!

Our good friend Jeanne made us prime rib. It was just as good the next day for warm ups. She's such a good cook. - Margy
