Loons Aug. 2013 |
I went about 4 km, kept up a paddling speed of about 5km/hr into the wind for a good long way. I haven't been in the canoe for a few weeks, but using my gardening tools, and hauling wood, keeps my arms in shape.
One hour and 12 minutes, but that last leg I let the wind drive me, and I ate my lunch! They aren't all clear, but bear in mind that the wind was strong, I was moving, and there were speed boats creating waves. The loon was in the distance, but you could hear him singing his mournful tune. I feature a 2013 photo!
The painted turtle reminded me of whazzername, in the movie Titanic!
I shall permit my photos to do the talking.

I wish it was me paddling that canoe. Next best thing, your virtual tour. Thank you sharing. Hope you took the time to smell that white water lily -- one of my favourite scents.
gorgeous photos, Jenn may I paint your loons, lilly, and frog?
Gorgeous photos from your little trip. Jenn may I paint your loons, frog and water lily?
Looks like a well paddled outing, my favourite, the jetty with your flag at the end. Homes so close to the water, do they ever get flooded? Enjoy the week.
What lake do you canoe on? I'm sure you have mentioned it but the name escapes my mind. Lovely photos of your journey.

Outstanding, pal!!! YAM xx
Beautiful shots! My favourite must be the loons!
Catching the herons from a canoe impresses me.
Oh good for you! What a beautiful scenic quiet way to get your exercise. Love this.
Looks like a great paddle!
They don't get flooded, Jean. The water levels don't rise and fall that much.
