Fri., Sept. 11th
I like change. The seasons brings many different things which we can enjoy. September was a hot delight. I felt badly for the teachers and students cooped up indoors this week, creating routines, playing those getting-to-know you games, getting to build their new classroom community.I played at home with my babies.
The first photo is a mystery moth that morphed and flew away before I could grab the photo. I was too slow! The story is here: Caterpillar tales from the aquarium -Part I
I have a second cocoon made by a caterpillar. Unfortunately for the Great Leopard Moth, a Wooly bear thought to take over its toilet paper roll! They are still sharing. Funny thing is that the Leopard caterpillar was ousted from another TP roll by a chrysalis. (See: Aquarium caterpigglies part II) This is Isabelle's caterpillar, which happens to be an Isabella Tiger Moth. Isn't that a hoot?!
Regarding the two white caterpillars: one died, the other is still munching away.
On the Hops bine, nicely grown up over the railing, two lady beetles making whoopie!
Friday, to soak up the last of the summer sun, we went out to dinner. The boaters were soaking it up, as well. Then there was the wee plane. The trees above were dropping leaves in the wind.
Sat., Sept. 12th
A shocking change in weather from our lovely dinner out Friday...the final two photos (above) were a portent of the clouds to come the next day. Not a bad thing, as we've had little rain in September, so far. Hubby had to go to a funeral Saturday, and I stayed indoors working on my newest project: four skirts for the girls. I had feline helpers, of course, over the week I've been working on them. We chose the material last July, but it's been to hot to work, plus I had gardening to do.As I write this, I can hear the thunder booming.
My guest room, also a play room, is now the sewing room.
Two done, two more to go!
It's been a dreary couple of days. We watched a movie last night, and four cats joined us. It was the warmest room in the house! We baked some chicken in the oven, having been using the BBQ in the summer heat, and that warmed us up some. I think it is too early to put on the furnace, don't you?!

Good morning, the weather is changing. We are seeing chilly morning and evenings. It is still warm during the day. Your granddaughter is so cute. Have a happy new week ahead!
Hi Jennifer, thanks for popping in to Perth... from Perth :) your weather sounds as changeable as ours but I'm thinking you would get very much colder in winter and maybe not so hot in summer? I like all the feline help you get with your sewing, cats are the best :)
Super skirt, I can see them twirling happily, and we will get photos too I hope. Too hot. or just a tad cold? Light that fire, we are officialy into spring, and ours goes every night, and I stoke it up in the morning for Hugh. Moths, I loved those furry cocoons when I was a child, cannot remember the moths hatching though.
A sweater before the furnace :) It's still too early It has been a good chance to try on some fall clothes that were recently purchased. The heat is to return during the week, so this is just a tease of what is to come. Those skirts are cute.
An ultra light on floats is a different set up!
That ultralight float plane looks a bit scary. We have one that parks next to our storage hangar at the airport. I saw it in the air for the first time a week ago when we were having some nice weather. Sounds like a sewing machine going by overhead. - Margy
We needed the rain- which is still making its presence known here off and on today too.

Yeah, have been fighting the need to put the heating on too... one night I did. It was down to 2 degrees celcius. Mostly it's just layers of wool though - and grabbing sunpuddles when the arrive!!! YAM xx
We've just had a drastic change in the weather from mild and dry to pouring down and I was caught in it!
That white caterpillar is amazing!
