I managed to trod down to the one trailcam I have in the forest. The others are up here trying to figure out whose tracks are in the snow. It keeps my mind off politics.
You can see how difficult walking is for everyone. It is over my knees. Silly me, I thought I'd just follow the deer path. That was a mistake! The deer track didn't go where I'd mounted the camera.
It was easier backtracking, after I grabbed the camera. And, note to self, should have brought a walking stick.
There were 5 deer on their way up to the house.
And they came back!
There was a coyote on the trail.
Also, a fox!
Labbit during the snow storm!

A wonderful variety of critters. I love the deer, the bunny and the footprint images. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
It’s been a good ole winter, but I am ready to move on.
I wonder when your snow will melt! That's super deep!
I love your trail cam videos. I have my camera on standby right now.
Oh the smart critters when the snow is deeper, to follow in tracks already made! It was great to see the deer going and coming back! glad you got the camera (card probably) and were successful at returning in your own tracks!
You just wouldn't know the activity without the camera and tracks. I always loved tracking...especially seeing the little bird tracks. Fun post today and I love your banner....brrrr!

It sounds like quite the adventure trying to track down that trailcam! The snow looks deep, and following the deer path seems like a good idea until it leads you off-course. It's amazing how nature leaves these little clues, like the tracks of a red fox or the five deer on their way up. It's so fun to see what the camera captures, and I love that you had to work a little for it. Next time, definitely a walking stick might be in order!
I hope you are having a great weekend. You are invited to read my new post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2025/03/the-breathtaking-adventures-we-had-in-glencoe.html Thank you.
The struggle with the snow and the tracks in it really paints a vivid picture of your trek. It's easy to see how it kept your mind off politics, though I imagine it also gave you a sense of peace while you were surrounded by nature. The mystery of the red fox tracks is intriguing—there’s something special about seeing the wildlife’s movements through your trailcam footage. And I have to say, your camera placement on the white birch tree is impressive, even if it took a minute to spot it!
Next time, a walking stick might just be the perfect companion for your forest explorations. Thanks for sharing this little journey with us! I hope you are having a great weekend. So many deer! It would be hard to remember where you put the camera when all of the trees and branches look so similar.
Your trail cams are always so interesting. What an alive place you live in!
You've got some very deep snow. Our snow is mostly gone so now we wait for that major March storm.
Love the photos of the deer. Do you have a lot of property that is near the woods?
Can't wait to enjoy your spring with you! Yes, we need vacations from politics but never forget to vote! I'm so sorry for all of us that we need to go through this right now, but I have hopes for a good outcome eventually after people see the darkness
We have 16 acres, Lori! Most of it is wetland.
I pulled my trail cameras from the woods when the snow started to get to deep. Other winters I have trees with tags on them.
So awesome that you know what the footprints are of. The snow is past your knees?!? Seriously? That's horrible to walk through.
