This was an ad on Facebook for a Toronto-based company that claimed it was folding. It seemed legit. Isn't this lovely? It caught my eye. They were on sale. I went to the website and it looked robust. I try to look bright and colourful when I visit my Hospice Clients. They like colour, and have a revolving door of PSWs and nurses who visit in utilitarian work modes.
I feel badly with our stores that have folded or are folding. The supply chain had been fluid across our borders prior to the orange felon. I've bought products from Jessica before, a Canadian designer with clothes in major stores. I looked them up, not clicking on the ad. It was a robust website. These are my pants from another company, Jessica, sold through Reitman's back (~15 years)? The seam is wearing out, but they are a lovely, stretchy, forgiving pair of pants.
I disputed it with the bank. I cannot contact the company. They promised a refund as the product had not arrived.
Ironically, the parcel arrived Tuesday. It is not as shown. Ah well. Lesson learned. I hope.
I had a delivery, my new mitts and scarf. They take a photo, thankfully, as the info said it was delivered to the front. You can't see the house from here.
It had fallen into the melted snow!
I ambled on down the driveway to the highway. I did register a complaint. I know these delivery people (gig workers) are poorly paid, and it bothers me. However...

While I am on the topic of shopping, and Joe is buying local, this is how Wayne Gretsky's wine is being marketed in Toronto. "Pair with boiled raccoon!"

Have you seen the Tesla ads? I mean, other than the one on the White House driveway the other day!

People around the world are reacting. Sales and the stock market are down. People are in panic mode, with jobs lost, benefits at risk. Canadians, such as those at Algoma (a steel plant) are being laid off in anticipation. It just isn't right.
It gives me a giggle, and some days this is all we can hope for.
We have a swearing in this morning, a new Prime Minister. We'll see what happens.
Saturday, we are looking at snow, freezing rain, and flooding warnings. The ground is frozen, and the water has no where to go. I have to check downspouts and otherwise hope for the best!

You never know what you're going to get with apparel. Some companies can be trusted, however. The other however is that the trustworthy ones tend to be pricey.

It snowed overnight here... the last gasp of winter, I hope!
Mark Carney has always struck me as being a steady (and sane) presence. I wish Canada well under his steering. YAM xx
