It's winter!

Deer fur is really interesting. Especially on mornings like today. It's -13 ℃, and the deer really need it.

You can see how insulated they are, when the snow doesn't melt on their heads!

Deer truly are incredible animals, I could watch them all day.

We're cold this morning (and going down as low as you tomorrow) but you have us beat today. That's one scary map! And those deer -- beautiful, each and every one. Interesting about their insulation.

Wonderful series on the deer, great photos.
Take care, have a great day and a wonderful week!

Deer fur does look like it insulates them well. I'd never seen any (being a city gal and all.) Yep, it's time for our long undies...not that I plan to go out this week. But now we're in the loop where snow may fall...and I might get into a couple of layers to walk around and see what's pretty with the iPhone.

Deer and Bison both amaze me with their cold weather hardiness.

Interesting deer fur; looks like fox or rabbit fur. Stay safe out there! Linda in Kansas

They really are the most beautiful animals! Hope you're staying warm. This weather is a doozy.

That is fascinating. Do they shed some of that fur for summer? And how I wish it was winter here.

The deer are so cute. They really are insulated aren't they?

Those deer are certainly designed for cold!

Deer have a much thicker coat than it looks.

Uh oh.... You guys sent the freezing air down to my daughter in Chicago. They might have to cancel school apparently, because it's too cold for the kids to be out. Please stay warm.

i was gonna say something on the 1st post but then i saw this 1 ... we know the deer are around but never seen this evidence. cool. back to the 1st post. i don't get the hoop loop. i think saving the money and keeping it quick and done is the most important no matter who won ... every1 deserves to celebrate if you wish to. but i don't feel it was cool for the cannon men (don't know the correct name to call them, not meaning to take away their titles if i knew them) to be out in the freezing temps if others are not. i don't enjoy the show. kind of like my wedding. i don't think i was really there, it was like i was on autopilot because i don't enjoy being the center of attention. save your money ... keep it small and simple. no 1 this day and age wants folks to waste money, food or such. hope that make sense. i don't find it cool to sit in a room with folks you don't like ... it is a joke. i think you should be able to do so ... but i think these folks we know the truth. lol. have a great rest of your January. take care. Lots of cold air here in Texas so I would imagine our deer are busy feeding and storing up energy for the cold. These are truly beautiful animals. Stay warm..

That wonderful fur animals have is amazing isn't it? Thankfully my equine have that same 'sort' of fur. Their hair fluffs up in the cold and if you put your fingers down through their coat you can feel their warm skin.
Stay warm.
And...think of the summer when we will be saying...stay cool!
